The Cuatro grade for her is a disappointment and embarrassment.

The Cuatro became symbolic of failure. Even if I did well in the removals, the best I
got was a Tres. A Tres meant a passing grade or average, the state of mediocrity I
was often told I should not settle for.

REASONING: The evidence I chose supports my answer because…

I agree with her. Even me If ever I receive a cuatro in my report card I would
consider cuatro as a failed grade. I would be questioning my life and my
capabilities if that will happen and I hope it won’t. I don’t settle for mediocre, I aim
for honor and excellence.

confidence. She had that vibe.

cool and a great professor. She even describe her with her outfits which make her
even cooler.

What I Can Do

Day 8
"Putting others Before Myself"

One of the failure I experienced in my life is putting others before myself. I believe in

putting someone before myself is good, but when you really over helping them that you don’t

even have time for yourself that is the time that you should stop, you should focus more on
yourself. Helping out people in a time of need is good, not only makes us feel good, and it can

also truly change someone's life.

About a year ago, I went through this depression phase. I didn't feel like hanging out with

my friends, or talking to anyone, that they even started to have hate me, I didn’t blame them for

that. It seemed as if so many bad things had just happened all at once. All I wanted to do is to

lay down all day, and sleep. At that time, I just wanted to end my life, so that my problems will

end immediately. One time I was scrolling through my cellphone, one of my teacher in grade

school reached me out using social media she replied my story on messenger and asked me

about what I am going through right now. I didn't hesitate to open up to her and talked about my

situation that I feel guilty, neglectful, and abandoned after I am trying to reach out some help to

my friends and relatives in my life but I didn't receive any responds from the them on my darkest

times. Mrs. Gabat talked and make a time for me to give me advices and lessons in life during

the chaos time of my life. She said that I need to learn how to become independent, and I didn't

really have to rely to others. She also added that it’s much better to rely on yourself. Not in a

selfish way. But in an emotional way. You don’t need others to be happy. I am grateful that Mrs.

Gabat reach me out, she is one of the reason why I am still here and why I did not end my life. I

will always carry her advices throughout my life.

Taking care of yourself is beyond important, how can you grow and flourish if you aren't

watering your garden? We find ourselves drained and wondering why. Of course, we tell

ourselves time after time that we'll prioritize ourselves better but it never seems to happen. Self-
care isn't hard, your body always lets you know when something is wrong. Whether it's being

overwhelmed or being hungry, your body will always let you know. Listen to it, that's your first

step to self-care, never push your needs away.
