while playing basketball

He is now terrified when playing He believes that he cannot

basketball, from experiencing the anymore play basketball and go to
pain of an injury a basketball league.

He feels defeated from the injury

IV. Essay. Answer the following essay questions in not more than five (5) sentences. (5 points
each.)

1. Explain this quote: “Not all things are created equal.”

• For me the meaning of this quote: “Not all things are created equal.”. It means that everyone
or everything is not the same, because it means that no one or anything is the same because
even if they are twins, some things are still different. For example, in the case of the twins
I mentioned, one may excel at sports while the other excels at school. Another example,
two phones, one excels at gaming while the other excels at pictures, filters, and much more.
So, there are many instances where things may see the same but it’s actually not. That’s
why really there are no things are created equal.
2. What ways can you suggest to a person who wants to get to know himself/herself through
reflection? Please give at least two (2) concrete examples and why did you suggest these?
• The first tip I would give to that person is to show out his/her feelings, thoughts, and
emotions through writing in a diary or sharing it with a friend. This would act as an activity
where the person will get to know more of themselves and know what is wrong and what
can they about that to make it right. The second suggestion I would give is to focus on your
own interest/s because that will get you to know better because I believe that everyone
should focus on their own interests and not the interests of others because if you focus on
others then it’s not getting to know yourself. You have to know what you really like to
make yourself happy.

3. Think of a situation that shows an example of a value and a virtue. How can you demonstrate
the presence of these two in your example?
• Alonzo achieved his goal in life in which to make into a basketball league because of his
work and his dedication to be better in his craft. He did all the tests to make it to the league
and he succeeded. Alonzo demonstrated hard work and dedication to the game of
basketball as his virtue because he knows it is hard to make it to the league without hard
work and dedication to the game of basketball and he did that and he was rewarded with
making it to the league. He also demonstrated his achievement because he strived in being
successful.
