FASHION
FASHION is a popular or the latest style of clothing, hair, decoration, or behavior.
Consumer factors-
This includes cultures, norms, lifestyle, demographics and population changes. These
factors affect the clothing industry in different ways. For example- the manufacturer
needs to create styles that appeal to those of different cultures, especially if those
cultural groups represent large enough segments of its market.
Technological factors-
This includes availability of resources, demand and production. For example- the
scarcity of certain materials, such as leather, may force retail and wholesale clothing
companies to sell substitute leather products. Retailers may increase the prices of
cotton clothing if they encounter shortages of this raw material, as they must pay their
manufacturers more
Economic factors-
Economy is always the most important factor in bringing change in one's lifestyle.
Families with fewer number of members have the opportunity to spend a lot of money
on their clothing where as it becomes difficult for the large families.
All the factories are closed no production is taking place. Retailers are shutting their
doors around the world, encouraging their customers to shop online instead. But now
all the online stores are also closed.
Yet the reality is that as we are forced to stay in our homes, and many of the families
are financially burdened. At this time for most of the families the biggest problem is to
feed their families, the desire to buy new clothes feels like a dream….
All the buyers have cancelled all their orders and have stopped payments for the
orders already placed even when the work has already been done. No one is taking the
responsibility of the workers who work in this whole supply chain.
The problem is the brands pay their suppliers a week or even a month before so the
small workers get their salary beforehand but now the company is not even getting the
payment for the work that has already been done and all the orders have been
cancelled. So the workers are in great fear that they might lose their job.
In Bangladesh many have already lost their jobs because of order cancellation and
failure of buyers.
The fashion industry in India is working with the government for relief and for protection
of the industry’s vulnerable textile workers who face wage loss.
The main problem lies with the students who have paid such a huge amount of fees in
various institutions to get a good jobs but now it is difficult for them to get a one as the
companies are not in the good condition to provide jobs to new people.
If we do nothing, the fashion industry will simply return to business as usual when this
is all over. Instead, let’s come together as a revolution and build a new system that
values the wellbeing of people and planet over profit. This means that right now we
should stand together to protect and support the people who make our clothes.
