1. GENERAL OBJECTIVE:
Define the steps that must be taken into account when performing the post driving and/or post removal.
2. REACH:
Project Manager, Project Director, Project Coordinator and All Personnel belonging to the works and maintenance
processes. This Procedure applies to concrete, metal and fiberglass posts.
3. DEFINITIONS:
Support: Generic name given to the support device for conductors and insulators of overhead lines or networks.
They can be poles, towers or other types of structures.
Brigade: It is a group of people from the Company or subcontracted personnel who work under the instructions of
the CLD, which is equipped with the necessary materials and tools to locate and repair faults in the medium and low
voltage networks owned by the Company.
Circuit: Closed loop formed by a set of electrical elements, devices and equipment, powered by the same energy
source and with the same protections against overvoltages and overcurrents.
Short circuit: Electrical phenomenon caused by an accidental or intentional union of very low resistance between
two or more points of different potential of the same circuit.
Epp´s: Personal protection elements (helmet with chin strap, protection mask, dielectric gloves according to the
voltage level).
Work at Heights Equipment: installation of lifeline, safety harness, absorption lanyard, positioning lanyard,
breastplates and anchorage connector.
Splice: Electrical connection intended to join two parts of conductors, to guarantee electrical and
mechanical continuity.
Fuse: Device whose function is to open, by the fusion of one or more of its components, the circuit in
which it is inserted.
1. RESPONSIBLE:
The Responsibility for the Implementation of this Procedure is in charge of the General Coordinator of
Projects and Maintenance Coordinator who must watch over its Compliance.
2. LEGAL FRAMEWORK:
- 5 Golden rules.
-NTC 2050.
3. RELATED DOCUMENTS:

1. DEVELOPMENT OF ACTIVITIES:
The Equipment, tools and related necessary to execute this Procedure, as well as the types of posts:
Concrete, metal and fiberglass.
- Concrete Post: The installation of this type of posts must be done with a crane.
- Metallic Post: It requires an auger, mine bar, 20-meter service rope that serves to help guide the post
along with a pulley for the heaviest ones and a tamper, shovel and plumb line to keep it straight. Two
differentials.
Check and make good use of personal protection elements and equipment for working at heights, which
are: helmet with chin strap, face shield, dielectric gloves, lifeline installation, safety harness, absorption
sling and positioning sling , breastplates and anchorage connector.
7.1.0 Receives from the supervisor of HESEGO INGENIERÍA S.A.S., the orders of the day and the list of
orders. Before going out to the field en route work.
7.1.1 Analyze work orders to determine the equipment, tools, and materials that must be carried.
7.1.2 Check the possession of documents such as the card (which must be carried in a visible place), EPS
card and ARL.
7.1.3 Inspect the work site and fill out the safe work analysis and work permit forms to identify
measurement anomalies, fall hazards, electric shock, vibrations, noise, humidity and high temperatures;
for which you should always work in spaces with good lighting.
7.1.4 Use hand tools strictly under the design specifications, to avoid injuries due to improper or unsafe
use of them. Use only insulated tools for work with electricity.
7.1.5 Get down and up the vehicles the ladders to be used, in an appropriate way. Use dielectric ladders
provided with non-slip shoes, locating
appropriately and ensuring depending on the class and condition of the floor and the solidity and viability
of the frontal support required.
7.1.0 Keep the planned separation of the base with respect to the working height.
7.1.1 Maintain three points of contact to climb up and down the vehicle ladder. Use the tool bag and all
PPE's.
7.1.7 Enter the work area to identify possible dangerous conditions due to electrocution, electric arc or
induction produced by nearby circuits; Prepare equipment and materials.
7.1.8 Cordon off the work site with safety tapes and cones to restrict the access of unauthorized persons
who may be injured or cause accidents.
The number of operators assigned to load a pole depends on the weight of the poles.
7.2.0 Opening of the hole according to the dimensions indicated in the project of the line with the
appropriate tools for the type of terrain:
7.2.1 The transportation of the supports: It is done with the help of the crane or low bed if they are
concrete posts and by truck if they are metallic or fiberglass. In the unloading of trucks, low bed or crane:
all kinds of blows that can cause deformation or cracking of the supports will be avoided.
7.2.2 Deposit the supports on the ground: they will be placed with a separation between the ground in
order to place the slings at least on three support points, which will be wooden blocks of equal size in no
case will stones be used for this finish.
7.2.0 Foundation of the support. If concrete is used, mix it on metal sheets or impervious surfaces and
make the mixture as homogeneous as possible.
7.2.1 To locate the supports, compliance with the safety distances, the approved design, and that the
supports do not hinder the entry of people and vehicles to the premises or ramps must be guaranteed.
7.2.2 The depth to which the posts must be buried will be governed by the following formula:
7.2.3 Opening of holes with the appropriate dimensions that guarantee the embedment depth of the
supports and the clearance for plumbing and foundation maneuvers.
7.2.4 The driving and plumbing of the supports if they are made of concrete with the help of the crane, in
the case of metallic or fiberglass posts with the technical personnel.
7.2.5 Place the crane vehicle next to the foundation where the support is going to be placed so that the
guide wires provide the vehicle with a horizontal and stable position during the work.
7.2.6 Foundation support base: First pour a layer of dry concrete strongly vibrated with the appropriate
thickness. Having a firm and clean support for the post, it maintains the distance marked on the plan from
the ground surface to the concrete layer.
7.2.7 Introduce the support inside the hole and proceed to balance and immobilize it by means of slats.
Immobilize it by means of winds or retained.
7.2.8 Pour the concrete into the hole, imprison it to make the hollow spaces that could form disappear. No
cut foundations should be left.
7.2.0 Foundation: Block the support from the ground so that the mooring point is always located above
its center of gravity.
7.2.1 Hoist the support, pulling with ropes or cable and traction:
a) Drive slowly.
b) No sudden movements.
The conductors should not be placed on the support until the cementation concrete has completely set.
7.2 Execution of post change: Place the Guide or 20-meter rope and anchor it to a Structure in order to
support the Post to be removed.
Open a hole next to the cemented structure along the entire Perimeter at 1.5 meters or 1.8 meters
depending on the depth with which the Post was Foundationed, so that its base settles.
Apply what is stipulated in item 7.2 and all the following steps of this Procedure by letting the post fall.
