Expert Talk on ‘How to choose a career in Impacted Economy’

(August 09, 2022)

Mr. Ashish Mehta, Founding Partner of Second Nature Sustainable Solutions, presented a master
class on "How to Choose a Career in an Impacted Economy" and shared his invaluable business
acumen with the PGDM 2022-2024 batch at the GLBIMR Campus, Greater Noida
on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.
The goal of the talk was to sensitize students on how to choose the right career path and be stable
and empowered in life even during difficult economic times. Ashish Mehta stated that the
economic suitability test determines state and local establishments' sales and income tax value
through expansion or modernization of production facilities”. Following the discussion, the
students were able to discern the following insights.
The economic cycle may have an impact on the entire job market or the employment rate. When
the economy is in a slump, there are fewer jobs available because the economy produces less and
employs fewer people. If the economy grows, so will production and the need for workers. There
are a variety of elements that may affect your choices, but the ones that spring to mind first when
considering a career are the work description, the training and education needed, the career
prospects, and the income. India’s capital markets, like many other global markets, have
performed admirably, allowing Indian companies to raise record amounts of risk capital. In
December 2021, India's Consumer Price Index inflation was 5.6 percent YOY (year on year)
which was within the targeted tolerance band. We wish to choose a profession that can provide
our bread and butter. Placement and opportunities in a particular university are thus considered
the most important factors for the students.

(August 11, 2022)

Under this Expert Talk Series, GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research. PGDM Institute, Greater
Noida organized an Expert Talk on “Growth Marketing: Next Frontier of Marketing on August 11, 2022,
Thursday. Mr. Ajoy Shah, Consultant, J K Tyres was the resource person for this expert talk. The main
objective of this session was to acquaint the students with Growth Marketing which is driven by a
customer-centric approach to building customer relationships. In this session, the students got a holistic
Understanding of Growth Marketing which necessitates the dynamic relationship between Sales and
Marketing. The session called attention to and brought out the following major cruxes.

The major cruxes of the session included: the difference between traditional marketing and growth
marketing, the changing paradigm of marketing towards agile marketing, and T-shaped marketing.

The Session fully justified the following words. A marketing strategy is a long-term plan to achieve a
company's goals by understanding customer needs and creating a clear and sustainable competitive
advantage. This includes everything from identifying customers to deciding which channels to use to
reach those customers. As a follow-up students gained insight into:
Marketing is critical for businesses. Every year, businesses spend millions of dollars on
advertising and marketing services, with nearly half of them fail within the first 15 years.
Companies are constantly looking for new ways to market themselves in order to remain
competitive. The good news is that they have discovered some effective methods. Most
marketers are unaware that they must create a marketing strategy before launching a
campaign. What comes next? How long does it take to develop an effective marketing strategy?
However, pitching a business without direction is one thing; pitching a business with a
consistent plan is another. The outcomes are very different. This is where your marketing
strategy comes into play.

Workshop on Data Cleaning: The First Step.

(August 13, 2022)

G.L Bajaj Institute of Management & Research. PGDM Institute organized a ‘Workshop on Data Cleaning’
on 13 August 2022, which was conducted by Prof. Vikram Kumar Sharma, Assistant Professor, GLBIMR,
PGDM. The motive of this workshop was to impart knowledge on Data Cleaning to the management
students.

The expert talk greatly justified the words: Data cleansing is the process of correcting or removing
incorrect, corrupt, malformed, duplicate, or incomplete data in a data set. Combining multiple data
sources increases the chances of data being duplicated or mislabeled. Wrong data can make results and
algorithms look correct but unreliable. There is no absolute way to dictate the exact steps of the data
cleansing process, as the process is different for each dataset. However, it's important to create a
template for your data cleansing process and make sure you're doing it right every time.

This workshop and session will benefit all PGDM students in improving their internship and statistics
grades. Prof. Vikram Kumar Sharma began asking the students in the auditorium about each keyword to
remember after thoroughly explaining his data cleansing topic. G.L Bajaj’s professors conduct various
knowledge-enhancing sessions for their students in this manner.
