Course Title: Non-institutional Correction
Course Credits: 3 units
Contact Hours/week: 4 hours
Pre-requisite: CA1N
Course Description: This course explores the different kinds of non-institutional corrections. It
focuses on PD 968, the primary law governing adult probation in the
Philippines together with its amendments and Act 4103 as amended, the
primary governing law parole. In addition, this course also treats the study of
the different kinds of executive clemency.

Course Outcome: At the end of the trimester, the students are expected to:
1. Understand fully the basic concepts, principles, and philosophy of the Probation System.
2. Analyze the relationships of the Probation Administration with the Pillars of Criminal Justice system.
3. Create solutions or problems involving probation investigation and supervision.
4. Evaluate the operation of probation in the country.
5. Apply learned concepts in their everyday life.
REQUIREMENTS

MIDTERM AND FINAL EXAMINATIONS - This task is given to assess the learners’ knowledge and
understanding of concepts and principles of assessment of learning. These are given to validate the results of their
practical activities and to prepare them for the licensure examination and real world of teaching.
