and I will be presenting the cable structures where we can discuss a little bit of
information about cable structure,
CABLE
- Structural cables are made of a series of
small strands twisted or bound together to
form a much larger cable. Steel cables are
either spiral strand, where circular rods
are twisted together and "glued" using a
polymer, or locked coil strand, where
individual interlocking steel strands form
the cable.
Cable which are glued or twisted are giving the structure enough strength to resist some
vibration to a certain object
A cable is the main component of cable supported bridge or suspended roof structures
that are classified as follows:
shows the essential structural members and elements of typical, including tower,
hanger, main girder, and the anchorage.
The main forces in a suspension bridge are tension in the cables and compression in the
towers. The deck, which is usually a truss or a box girder, is connected to the
suspension cables by vertical suspender cables or rods, called hangers, which are also in
tension.
The weight is transferred by the cables to the towers, which in turn transfer the weight
to the anchorages on both ends of the bridge, then finally to the ground.

That’s all for my task, next is Mr. Castro will continue to discuss the remaining topic
about cables in tensile structure,
But before that, I would like to remind everyone that after the cables structure, we will
have a super short guess game and we will choose or whoever volunteer to answer will
receive a token as our appreciation for your participation,
