INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION PATTERNS OF TEACHERS AND STUDENTS
IN ONLINE LEARNING (Phenomenological Study on Teachers and Students of SD Negeri
03 Bukit Duri Jakarta)

Abstract

With the pandemic, there have been changes in learning, especially in elementary
schools. This study aims to determine the pattern of interpersonal communication
between teachers and students in online learning at SD Negeri 03 Bukit Duri Jakarta and
to determine the factors supporting and inhibiting the occurrence of interpersonal
communication patterns between teachers and students in online learning at SD Negeri
03 Bukit Duri Jakarta. This research uses symbolic interaction theory. The method used
is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study indicate that the one-way
communication pattern is still applied by teachers and students in online learning due to
the limited space and scope of learning. In addition, two-way communication patterns
still play an important role so that communication runs well and effectively. Supporting
factors in the pattern of interpersonal communication between teachers and students,
namely students are not passive when learning, parents participate in collaboration when
learning online, cellphones and laptops do not have problems, there is openness between
teachers and students in interaction, and high self-awareness of students and teachers
when the implementation of distance learning. The inhibiting factors for the pattern of
interpersonal communication between teachers and students are internet network errors,
student gadgets used by people at home together, and parents who do not accompany
their children to study online.

“Teacher Communication in Online Learning to Increase Students' Learning Motivation at
SDIT Al Furqon Maospati Magetan”

ABSTRACT

This research is motivated by the Covid 19 phenomenon where all daily activities from
starting to work, studying, and other activities will be available restrictions on doing so.
Regulation of the Ministry of Education and Culture regarding online learning will be carried
out from home to prevent victims exposed to the covid 19 virus. This has an impact on the
education sector, no except for all teachers and students. In order to break the chain the
spread of the covid 19 virus, this institution together with teachers carries out teaching and
learning activities using an online system, by using digital applications such as whatsapp,
google meet, or google from. Learning this online application can be used in all subjects by
using supporting applications. It is hoped that in the application of this online learning
students will stay productive, don't feel bored, and be motivated and patient with regards to
the world of education is still an emergency zone and the implementation of learning is still
carried out from home.

The focus of the research in this thesis is (1) How is teacher communication? in online
learning strategies to increase student motivation at SDIT Al-Furqon Maospati Magetan? (2)
How is the teacher's communication in the method online learning to increase student
motivation at SDIT Al-Furqon Maospati Magetan? (3) How is teacher communication in the
learning process online to increase student motivation at SDIT Al-Furqon Maospati
Magetan?.

The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze teacher communication in strategies,
methods, and learning processes online to increase student motivation at SDIT Al-Furqon
Maospati magnet. This research uses a qualitative approach with this type of research
descriptive qualitative, where this study seeks to describe a symptom, events, events that are
happening now. In this study the technique. The data collection used were interviews,
observations, and documentation. The data sources used are the principal, waka curriculum,
fourth grade teachers and fifth grade teachers.

The results of the study show that (1) Communication in learning online is very important for
online teaching and learning activities. In this learning communication students through
online learning activities, teachers at SDIT Al-Furqon Maospati through an online strategy
method while still referring to the Learning Implementation Plan, teacher readiness, and
media that will be used. (2) Online learning methods at SDIT Al-Furqon Maospati In this
case, the teacher applies the lecture and question and answer method in the implementation of
activities learn how to teach. In addition to the lecture method and the teacher's question and
answer method in using the Blended Learning pattern which is a method with the percentage
level is said to be quite effective in the online learning period. (3) in the online learning
process at SDIT Al-Furqon Maospati so far using digital applications such as whatsapp
applications or video calls on smartphones and other supporting applications such as zoom
meet or google meet, or google from, as well as using a network or internet connection that is
stable so that when learning takes place there are no obstacles that occur.
