Research Critique

1. Create a summary of the three articles. Do not copy the abstract.

COVID-19 AND THE WORKPLACE: IMPLICATIONS, ISSUES, AND INSIGHTS
FOR FUTURE RESEARCH AND ACTION
The effects of COVID-19 on the world’s workers and workplace have been
drastic due to the sudden closing of different business establishments which led to
many workers to leave or in some cases they are forced to leave their work position due
to cost cutting or simply their place of work became bankrupt because of the different
quarantines that were implied to make health protocols better. This article is tackled;
how the workplace changed when COVID-19 arose, how the workers adapted to the
new labor process, and the measures that establishments made in order to adapt to the
new workplace.

MOTIVATION AS ENABLER FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS

The second article examines academic self-efficacy, achievement goals,

attributions, intrinsic motivation, and other elements that influence student motivation in
school. Professors would characterize these pupils as unmotivated, further discouraging
them. Given these four crucial factors, Teachers and school psychologists could
conduct various assessments and focus on the possible adjustments that would benefit
the students.

MEN, MASCULINITY AND THE CONTEXT OF HELP SEEKING

This article tackles how men’s ideas and gender norms have a role in men's lives
in terms of obtaining assistance men's difficulties in getting health treatments is another
element that contributes to the mismatch between available services and traditional
male ideals emphasizing self-reliance, emotional control, and power.

2. What is the topic of the article? What variables are being discussed?
COVID-19 AND THE WORKPLACE: IMPLICATIONS, ISSUES, AND INSIGHTS
FOR FUTURE RESEARCH AND ACTION
The first article examines COVID-19's effects on employees and workplaces.
Workers, both physical and virtual, are being discussed as the pandemic's effects on
the environment are measured.

MOTIVATION AS ENABLER FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS

The second article focuses on school motivation as well as adjustments to

improve school surroundings. The student's surroundings, self-efficacy, and attributions
all play a role in their total motivation.

MEN, MASCULINITY AND THE CONTEXT OF HELP SEEKING

The third article discusses the impact of gender roles on requesting help. It
focuses on men and their masculine responsibilities in society and their psychological
perspectives on seeking or refusing treatment.

3. Highlight the relevance of the research article. What is it for? What is the purpose of
the research?

COVID-19 AND THE WORKPLACE: IMPLICATIONS, ISSUES, AND INSIGHTS

FOR FUTURE RESEARCH AND ACTION
The Covid-19 epidemic has had a significant impact on office surroundings and
staff habits. Article 1 examines its consequences in order to raise awareness among
employers and others in order to build a more inclusive and long-term solution for its
employees. Workplaces with individualized problems, such as employees who live
alone vs. employees who live with their families, are one of the many challenges these
employees confront.

MOTIVATION AS ENABLER FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS

Article 2, on the other hand, focuses on students and the various factors that
influence their motivation. Teachers were clearly going to identify these kids as
"unmotivated," therefore discouraging them. The purpose of this article is to
demonstrate the need of offering interventions to these pupils and a change in
educational surroundings, as well as the teachers' perspective on the students. Instead
of concluding and resisting change, it is critical to investigate the issues that develop.

MEN, MASCULINITY AND THE CONTEXT OF HELP SEEKING

The third article discusses the difficulty of gender roles in terms of getting aid,
particularly for men. Men's decisions to seek or not seek help are influenced by gender
norms, stereotypes, and self-reliance, according to the authors. These readings lead to
two conclusions: men should be transformed individually, or services must adapt to
cater to the ordinary guy.

4. If you were to pursue a data driven research, what research methods are you going
to use for each of the articles?
COVID-19 AND THE WORKPLACE: IMPLICATIONS, ISSUES, AND INSIGHTS
FOR FUTURE RESEARCH AND ACTION
MOTIVATION AS ENABLER FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS
If I were to pursue data-driven research, the research method I am going to use
for this article is surveys or questionnaires. In which, we ask the same questions to
large numbers of participants or use Likert scales which measure opinions as numerical
data. We need a lot of research respondents to indicate which the enabler of their
motivation is. In choosing a research participant, I will use stratified sampling to assure
that all groups possess such criteria needed. The results will provide greater precision.

MEN, MASCULINITY AND THE CONTEXT OF HELP SEEKING

If I were to pursue data-driven research, the research method I am going to use
for this article is an interview. The subjects need more closure about this matter as they
are the ones who have problems seeking help. Therefore, they will have a difficult time
opening up. In choosing the population, I will use a simple random selection because
the interview questions don’t need advanced knowledge to answer.

5. How are these articles relevant to the field of Psychology? What is the significance of
each article to the discipline and practice of Psychology? Elaborate your answer.
COVID-19 AND THE WORKPLACE: IMPLICATIONS, ISSUES, AND INSIGHTS
FOR FUTURE RESEARCH AND ACTION
These articles are about human behavior and how it affects everyday life. The
first article seeks to describe how such changes in the workplace affect employees'
ability to work and how these changes affect their behavior, productivity, and physical
and mental health.

MOTIVATION AS ENABLER FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS

The second article may be comparable in that their surroundings has an effect on
their educational motivation. We can observe that the behavior of these students is
influenced by their relationship with their mentors as well as their belief in their own
ability. This means that children are motivated by social affirmation and hands-on
interventions from their instructors and school psychologists.

MEN, MASCULINITY AND THE CONTEXT OF HELP SEEKING

The third article, on the other hand, examines men's attitudes toward obtaining
help. It has been discovered that males identify with both their gender roles in society
and their manly ideas. Psychologists believe there is a link between this and requesting
treatment, and that males will comply with their power, self-reliance, and emotional
control norms. As we see their behavior in various contexts, all of these issues can be
linked to the study of psychology. The research also aims to propose answers and
interventions for these people, using a variety of social science lenses as well as other
characteristics.
