Superpave Assumptions
 Permanente deformation in the form of
rutting, corrugations and shoving occur in
new pavements, therefore, testing is
performed using Original Binder (OB) and
Rolling Thin Film Oven (RTFO) samples.

 Fatigue and thermal cracking are the result of

old pavements that become brittle, therefore,
testing is performed using Pressure Aging
Vessel (PAV) samples.
