OBJECTIVES:

● Cite sources to support claims; and
● Present ideas convincingly.
 FACT
Is a statement that is based
on an actual thing that exists and
can be proven as true or false.
SOURCES
PRIMARY SOURCES
are the sources that has
first-hand information like
persons, organizations, plants
and animals, artifacts,
documents, etc.
SECONDARY SOURCES
are interpretations and
analysis based on the
primary sources such as
books, periodicals, modules,
internet, and the like.
 OPINION
Is a statement that is
based on the personal view of
a person. It can be based on
his experiences and beliefs.

A claim of policy argues
that certain conditions should
exist, or that something
should or should not be done,
in order to solve a problem.
 Claim of policy:

The death penalty should be

abolished because it does nothing
to prevent murder.
ACTIVITY
The class will be divided into six (6) groups
with five (5) members. Each group will perform
an act where they need to think of a current issue
in the Philippines and show the importance of
discerning facts from opinions and claims within
ten (10) minutes.
