Barriers to overcoming Physical activity

Physical activity may strengthen your bones and muscles, helps to you maintain a healthy
weight, increase your ability to carry out daily tasks, and improve your mental function.
Walking, cycling, sports, active recreation, and play are all popular practices to be active
that anyone can do for fun and at any ability level. Not getting enough physical activity
can lead to an unhealthy lifestyle. The common reasons why people don’t exercise or do
physical activities because of lack of time, social influence, lack of motivation, lack of
skills, and lack of resources.

I. Lack of time

- Lack of time is one of the excuses why people are not doing some physical
activities because they are busy and sometimes they are lazy too.

Try these things if you don't feel like you have time for physical activity
in your regular life:
1. Make a planner and add Physical Activity to it
2. Try not to let a shortage of time overwhelm you. Instead of blocking
off longer amounts of time, think about performing a few shorter
scheduled bouts of exercise throughout the day. Start your day with
some stretches, go for a little walk before lunch, and then do core
exercises at night.
3. Include your family.
4. Try to incorporate physical activity into your daily life.
5. Monitor your daily activities for one week.
II. Social Influence

- It has been determined that parents and friends have a social impact on teenagers'
physical activity.

Examples to overcome social influence in physical activity:


1. Invite loved ones to join you in your Physical Activity.
2. Make new friendships with folks who are physically active. Join a fitness
center or organization.
3. Share your interests in Physical Activities to your friends and family.

III. Lack of Motivation

- Mental Laziness and Lack of commitment in your goals are the reasons for lack of
motivation.

Examples to overcome social lack of motivation in physical activity:


1. Pick something that really interests you.
2. Set it on both of your calendars to invite a friend to join you for regular exercise.
3. Watch motivational videos or workout journeys to motivate you.
4. Choose an activity that feels comfortable to you.
5. Schedule your workout for when you often feel the most energized.

IV. Lack of Skills

- To improve your physical activity skills you need to start with low intensity
activities and slowly increase your level of physical effort.

Examples to overcome lack of skills in physical activity:


1. Sign up for the programs or activities being provided.
2. Practice some sports.
3. Try stretching, strengthening and balancing exercises.
4. Select activities that don’t require new skills.
5. Practice endurance, strength, balance, and flexibility.
V. Lack of Resources

1. Choose activities that require the smallest amount of facilities or gear.


2. Choose activities that don’t need facilities, equipment, or instructors.
3. Locate accessible, affordable options in your area.
4. You can walk and run for free.
5. Download fitness apps at no cost.
