Recreation
• Recreation is an essential process that
helps in energizing and strengthening the
mind and the body. Most recreational
activities serve as pastimes and hobbies
of people.
There are two types of
recreation:

• Active recreation – involves


intense physical activities such
as sports and outdoor games.
• Passive recreation – involves
activities such as walking.
Benefits of recreational activities
Engaging in recreational activities gives a
host of benefits. These can be evident in the
physical, social, and emotional aspects of
your life.

• Physical benefits – it improve your health,


stamina, endurance, and energy. The
movements and exercises involved in
outdoor recreations can also help maintain
your desirable level of fitness.
• Social benefits – Engaging in outdoor
activities is great way to bond with your
friends and family. You can further develop
your relationship through playing sports
with them.
• Emotional benefits – It has a positive effect
to your emotional health. They motivate
and boost your self-esteem. Through
adventurous and challenging activities, you
can be much encouraged to take risks and
establish a better self-confidence.
