Semi-detailed lesson plan

I. Objectives
• At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1. Identify the words that have affixes in given sentences ;
2. Develop a sense of teamwork and cooperation through collaborative activities and;
3. Use affixes properly.

IV. Teaching/Learning Process
A. Preparation
• Prayer
• Greetings
• Checking of attendance, reminders on things they need to do during class
discussion.
• Motivation: ( The teacher will present a video clip about prefixes and
suffixes)
After that he’ll let the students to take down note the words with prefixes
and suffixes that they can see on the following sentences)
• If I’ve misjudged you, I’m terribly sorry.
• We reached Paris at midnight.
• My boss told me to rewrite the report
• The teacher speaks fluently
• Ana work’s in this bakery shop
B. Presentation
1. Recall the instruction given by the teacher. What have you observed
with the words that you’ve take down notes?
2. What are some similarities among the words?
C. Lesson Proper
1. Discussion
- Based on the previous activity, the class will be divided into two
groups.
- The first group will work on the definition and examples of a
prefix. The other group will work on the definition and examples
of suffix.
- After 10 minutes of group discussion, every group will choose
one representative to present their output infront of the class.
- After the group presentation , the teacher will sum up the
lesson by presenting a PowerPoint presentation in the class.
2. Developing Mastery
• From the given sentences, identify the words that have affixes
and tell the root word on it.
 My nationality is Filipino while my friend is American.
 The boy had an accident that makes him disabled.
 The Christmas occasion is very meaningful to
Filipinos.
 The internet is being used internationally.
 Do your unfinished work in my computer.

D. Generalization
• The teacher will ask his students with the following questions.
1. What are the two kinds of affix?
2. What is suffix and prefix?
3. What is te difference between a suffix and prefix?
E. Application
• Enumerate 5 words containing affixes and make use each of them to create
sentences.
V. Evaluation
• From the given words below, make new words by adding affixes on it. Write
at least three.

VI. Assignment
• Search and write the lyrics of any songs. Encircle the words that uses affixes.
