I OVERVIEW
There are many types of power supply. Most are designed to convert high
voltage AC mains electricity to a suitable low voltage supply for electronics circuits and
other devices. A power supply can be broken down into a series of blocks, each of
which performs a particular function.
Dual Supplies
Some electronic circuits require a power supply with positive and negative outputs as
well as zero volts (0V). This is called a 'dual supply' because it is like two ordinary
supplies connected together as shown in the diagram.
Dual supplies have three outputs, for example, a ±9V supply has +9V, 0V, and -9V
outputs.
II OBJECTIVE
This experiment requires you to design and build a dual-source power
supply. It also requires you to simulate, measure, and analyze the output of the
supply. After evaluating the output of the supply, present your work by making
Scope
To meet the experiment requirements, you will need to:
• Organize the necessary task that you will need to perform to complete
this experiment based on the specifications
• Collectively assess and choose an appropriate design for the required
circuit.
• Create and implement the circuit on the simulation software (e.g.
Multisim) and apply the necessary signal and connect the test equipment
to measure and analyze the output based on the specifications.
• Present your working experiment and share your experience via an oral
presentation in a 2-minute video.

3. After designing the PCB layout, copy the design to the PCB.
4. Prepare the ferric chloride, and put the PCB design on the solution. Wait for at
least 2 hrs to remove the exposed part of the design.
7. Use an electric drill to make a hole for the placement of the component.
8. Ensure that the components are properly mounted in their correct position.
10. Begin to solder each component. Put the diode first then the capacitor and the
connecting wires.
11. Test the output of the constructed power supply using the Oscilloscope and
Voltmeter.
12. What are the output voltages on each terminal with respect to the ground?
