Background Knowledge:
There are many different perspectives regarding martial law. In the history books, martial law was sees as a great evil under the
reign of Former President Ferdinand Marcos, but there are some Filipinos who look at our martial law past with fondness. Why do
you think is the case?
What do you
remember about
Ferdinand Marcos?
- Ferdinand Marcos was a great president who erected
several structures that benefit our fellow Filipinos. Because
to his managerial abilities, he is one of the Philippines'
longest-serving presidents. But it is his wife, Imelda Marcos,
who controls, opposes, and tells him what to do.
What do you
remember about
Martial Law?
- Our country's police and army have been rigorous, but
I know they are doing so to better or follow the people
of the country. Even though many people died, there
were plenty who survived and understood it would yield
positive outcomes.
Do you think martial law
was a good or bad time in
Philippine history?
- For me, it's exactly the same; Martial Law has
brought both -good and evil to our country. However,
its reputation has only been affected because of
those who did not follow it and lost family as a result.
To summarize, our country has come a long way.

attention. Because if we merely trust rumor or supposition, we may
bring more hurt and injury to their family history. Especially in this day
and age when so much bogus news is proliferating. We must educate
the kids about the positive examples given by the Marcos family.

in our history?
What do you feel
about the possibility
of martial law in the
present day?
- According to the present Philippine Constitution, the
President has the ability to declare martial law "in case of
invasion or insurrection, when the public safety needs it," but
most other nations employ a different legal framework, such
as "state of emergency."

- The Conjuancos are genuine. Is it true that controlling huge enterprises, land,
and assets all across the Philippines leads to a better Philippines? No, it made
matters worse for us. More squatters, fewer employees, a falling peso-dollar
exchange rate, less land, less food, and higher debt, especially in these difficult
times.
