ANIMALS AND THEIR DIFFERENCES

A DepEd-BEAM Distance Learning Program supported by the Australian Agency for International Development
Something To Learn

Recognizing different kinds of animals and their differences.

Let’s Us Learn

Animals that are not of the same kind have similarities in some of
their ways. But mostly animals of different kinds differ in their ways.
This lesson is focused on the different kinds of animals and their
differences.

Let’s Try
.

Complete the table below.

• Where does each animal live?
• What does each animal use for moving?
• What is their body covering?
• What food does it eat?

Let’s Study

Observe different kinds of animals in your place. Are they all the
same or different? Why? Why not?

Fish lives in water. It swims, has scales for its body covering and
eats marine plants and small fishes.

Birds live in trees or stay in air most of the time. They fly, have
feathers and eat both plants and small insects.

Snake lives on land. It crawls, has scales and eats other animals.

Lions live in forest. They run or walk, have fur and eat other
animals.

Goats live on land. They run or walk, have fur and eat plants.
Thus:
• Different kinds of animals differ in many ways. They differ on
their habitats. The way they move, body coverings and the food
that they eat.
