What this presentation covers

Why Steve Jobs?
Steve Jobs as we all know was the CEO of Apple
from 1997-2011 till he unfortunately passed away.

Grooming Apple under his leadership for 14 years, he took the company to
great heights, introducing revolutionary and generation defining products
that still continue to carry his vision and make all of our lives easier on an
everyday basis.
Why Steve Jobs?
Steve Jobs understood design, and was a preacher
of doing what you love.

For Steve, products and the experience they delivered always came before
profits. He was passionate about what he did and that really showed
throughout his work, be it at Apple, NeXt, or Pixar.
Why Steve Jobs?
A lot of people didn't consider Steve Jobs as a
good leader.

But just like every coin has two sides, I think his ability to get everyone to work
was different than others. He had his company highly organised and was
known to be a person who would push you to your limits to be able to perform
and deliver excellence. Although, a lot of people didn't consider him to be a
good leader, there were many who considered him as a great leader and
looked upto him.
Steve Jobs' Leadership
Steve Jobs was an "Autocratic Leader"

Steve Jobs' leadership style was Autocratic, he had this meticulous eye for
detail and liked to surround himself with like minded people to follow his lead.
The creative awareness in him and his team and this meticulous eye for detail
was the driving force for the huge success of his companies.
Steve Jobs' Leadership
"Keeper & Reiterator of Vision"

Steve Jobs was a keeper and reiterator of his vision. In his own words he says
"What leadership is, is having a vision, being able to articulate that so that
people can understand it, and getting a consensus on a common vision."
Steve Jobs' Leadership
Tech Aspect in Steve's Leadership
Steve Jobs practised passionate leadership. Many may confuse a passionate
leader for a ruthless one. But the reality is, in the tech world in Steve's era, the
competition was ruthless. A small company like Apple was fighting against a
big monopoly of a company IBM. To fight against this competition and
surviving in the industry, Apple needed a leader like Steve Jobs who had a
clear vision in his mind and could tell subordinates what to do, when to do
and how to do it. Subordinates had no involvement in the decision making of
the company and that surely left a lot of people unsatisfied.
Steve Jobs' Leadership
A Player B Player Mentality
Steve Jobs followed this "A Player B Player" mentality, wherein he believed
that "A Players" thrive off each others energies and can make wonders
happen but if even a single "B Player" was found in a team of "A Players", he
could hinder the whole team and had to be removed.

Steve was known to fire people ruthlessly when they underperformed, but
would reward his employees generously when they showed good progress
and performance.
Steve Jobs' Leadership
Focus and Simplification
Steve Jobs brought about Focus and Simplification by taking responsibility
for the work done under his leadership till the end.

He would not let his employees down by putting blame on them, when
something didn't work out. Instead he would take responsibility on himself
whenever the need be.
Steve Jobs' Leadership
Steve's final days at Apple
Even after being known as an arrogant and ruthless leader, and having
multiple employees/ex-employees unsatisfied and also having an overall
negative public image whe it came to leadership, during Steve's final days at
Apple he had an astonishing 97% approval rate among his employees which
shows how much they trusted in him and his vision, proving that he was
indeed a good leader that had negative PR.

Sadly, a lot of people still believe in what the media houses had to say about
Steve but when you ask the people who had worked under him, you get to
know a completely different story.
Steve Jobs' Contribution
Steve Jobs left behind a legacy of numerous
achievements and a huge impact on the world.

Steve Jobs is still to this day a truly inspiring personality for so many people
from so many backgrounds. Be it struggling entrepreneurs, adopted kids,
