LINE
Part A: How is line used to convey meaning and emotion within
the frame below? Can you identify primary direction of lines that
direct your eyes to different parts of the frame?

❑ The straight happy lines on both the Child and dog are similar
conveying an emotion of bond. Where as the lines are little fuzzy and
sad on the Old man and the bird-like creature conveys a little sadness
of wanting to bond with the boy as the dog does.
Part B: On a blank sheet of paper write down two different
feelings that you’ve had recently (one at the bottom left, and
the other at the bottom right). Visually represent the feeling
on the left as a line traveling across the paper to the right.
Then transform the line as it starts to take on characteristics
of the feeling on the right.

❑ So, recently I've been watching Maanga, which my friends started

watching a long time ago. I wasn't use to it very well at the start, I was
too confused. But now that I put some time into it, I feel pretty
confident.
PART C : Create a character with just one line
and give it a name and short description. Try
creating additional characters using multiple
lines.
TONE
In the above Image, how Is tone used to help create
emphasis and dIrect the vIewer’s eye?
➢ What mood is conveyed?
The tone is attractive and mysterious.

➢ What kind of contrast is used (low , high , highest)?

Its highest first, the light is used to direct us to mouse
man, here the characters are the key, while the
background is darker. This creates a high contrast to
their first encounter, creating feeling of mysterious
atmosphere.
SPACE
➢ How is the illusion of depth achieved ?
Techniques of perspective are used to create the illusion of depth.

➢ Are there any objects that show size differences?

There are many objects that show different sizes. for
example cars are big. another object are humans they are
smaller than cars. The size of Mr. Incredible is big, and
broad.
➢ Can you see how shapes and lines contribute to the depth
of this scene?

Yes, it does because you can tell how an object is. Also you
can tell how tall it is
* The scene back of buildings are more blurred. Also the closer one's are
blurred hence the scene is more focused on main character.

*After front view when you look at the back the scene is dusty and the
focus on main character is clear.
SHAPE
➢ Can you locate the main shapes in this image?
The main shapes here are the rectangular.

➢ How does shape influence where you look and what meaning and
emotion is conveyed?
Lightening Mac queen has rectangular shape which shows the speed
and Doc Hudson has little oval shape as the color of its is also dull, So
the Mac Queen represents hero of the frame.
MOVEMENTS
❑ What kind of movement (motion lines
or line of action) is implied in the
above images?
Compare the role lines play in
achieving a sense of movement in
both.
The first picture shows how the cars are racing each other,
and second picture shows that rat is adjusting itself to fit in
low spaces or going somewhere. It shows how it moves
