Ghonghdis, Marbling Technique, etc.) A8PRIIIc-e-1
Lesson/Topic: The arts and Crafts of West Asia

West Asia's artistic history are manuscripts, ceramics, and textiles which is predominantly
Islamic. Turkey is popular with their Turkish carpet. The Turkish carpet stands out among the
oriental carpets because of its distinctive dyes and colors, pattern, texture, and methods. Turkish
carpets are often composed of wool and cotton and are tied with a symmetrical knot known as
the "Turkish."

Saudi Arabia is the home of Islam. Painting isn't a popular art form in this region, which
is interesting to observe. This is due to Islamic doctrine prohibiting the representation of human
and animal figures. A painting, on the other hand, is created when it is mandated by an approved
religious authority.

Saudi Arabia is becoming more self-sufficient in terms of carpet needs, due to the
government's encouragement of the domestic carpet manufacturing industry. In Saudi Arabia,
there are currently six factories producing carpets, rugs, prayer rugs, and other types of carpets.
