1. What are the features of this academic text that qualify it as academic writing?
In my opinion after reading the text the most likely title is “A Study of Empathy”.
5. Why is your answer the most probable title of the article? Provide textual
evidence.
A Study of Empathy because when I read the story, I have seen that they were
studying empathy and that they conducted an interview in which many participants
stated that showing empathy was draining on their mental health. If it is not studied,
there are many people who are unaware of mental health, and they also observed that
most people do not want to put forth the mental effort to understand mental health or
show empathy for others, even if it involves positive emotions.

1. What were your thoughts or ideas about structure of academic text prior to the
discussion of this lesson?
Academic text have two structure. The minor grammatical units and the major
grammatical units. Minor grammatical units is organize in a specific way and have a
clear structure. Major grammatical units is easier to navigate text and to understand it
better. If I would make an academic writing and to choose one of the structure of
academic text I would choose the major grammatical units. I would choose major
grammatical units for my readers to understand it very quickly without any questions
about the phrases words they didn’t understand.
2. What new or additional ideas did you learn after taking up this lesson?
My new learning in this lesson is the 5 Patterns of Paragraph Development and the
Structures of Academic Text. Wherein, Deductive{topic sentence-beginning}
Inductive{topic sentence - end}, Deductive-Inductive{topic sentence-beginning and end},
Inductive-Deductive{topic sentence-middle} and Hinted Pattern{topic sentence-implied}
are the 5 Patterns of Paragraph Development. While the 2 Structures of Academic Text
are the Minor grammatical units [organize and clear]and Major grammatical units[easy
to navigate text and understand].
