Packing/packaging is the preparation of product or commodity for proper


storage and/or transportation. It may entail blocking, bracing, cushioning, marking,
sealing, strapping, weather proofing, wrapping, etc.” – Business Dictionary.
Packaging and labeling of products helps to increase the marketability of the
product. Marketability and quality of being ready to be promoted and sold in the
market.

The history of packaging dates back to the year 1035.

A Persian traveller, visiting markets in Cairo, noted that vegetables,


s spices and hardware were wrapped in paper for the customers after
