Guidelines for the Proposal or Title Hearing

For your title hearing or proposal hearing this will be sequence. For the first part you simply
need to present your paper. Highlight each part of the paper for chapter 1: Introduction discuss
concisely the contents of the background of the study, statement of the problem, purpose of the study,
significance of the study, theoretical perspective, research method, scope and delimitations, summary
and definition of terms. Then you also need to do the same with chapter 2: Research Methodology from
the methodology, research questions, research design, sampling and research instruments.

Each part must highlight the following:

Chapter 1: Introduction

1.1 Background of the study


- The reason of why you chose your topic
- The issues that arose
- A history of the problem of your study
1.2 Statement of the problem
- State here the questions to be answered, issues to be resolved and/or problems to be solved by
your research in question form
1.3 Purpose of the study
- State here what you will do in your research
- Simply state the statement of the problem in sentence form
1.4 Significance of the study
- State here who will benefit from your research
1.5 Theoretical perspective
- In this part of the research you will state the theories backing up your research you can have as
many theories backing you up.
1.6 Research method
- State here what type of research method or design you will be using for your research.
1.7 Scope and delimitations
- State here the parameters of your research
o Purpose of your study
o Respondents
o Theories and topics
o Durations
o Place where the study will be conducted
1.8 Definition of terms
- Write in alphabetical order the technical and operational terms used in your research
Chapter 2: Research Methodology

2.1 Methodology

- State here the research design or method you will be using

- define that research design

- justify and discuss the research design or method used, explaining why is it the chosen method

- 5 qualitative research design

- Case study

- Ethnography

- Content analysis

- Phenomenological Study

- Grounded Theory

2.2 Research questions

- state here the questions that your research will be answering

- discuss each question

2.3 Research Design

- narrate here the step by step process of your research

2.4 Sampling

- state here the details of your respondent and also the sampling method you are using.

2.5 Research Instrument

- state on this part the instrument used, define it and justify why it is your instrument.

Kindly wear a business attire. Be concise and precise in your presentation. Note down every
correction to improve your paper.
