This infographic is just one of the many ways the health experts and government officials can reach
people to be informed of the health guidelines and be convinced to stay at home and to stay healthy.
Reaching out to people is an example of communication. Everything that revolves around the world is
communication. So, what is communication? How is communication important for you? What are some
factors to be considered when we communicate? Why should we learn to communicate properly? All
these questions will be answered as we interact in the first chapter of this course.

1. Globalization

 Globalization has made intercultural communication inevitable. Communicating with


other cultures characterizes today's business, classroom, and community. Technology
especially the internet has increased the probability that whatever is documented online
will be read by someone from another culture.

2. Business Opportunities

 Business communication is the process of sharing information between people within


and outside a company. Effective business communication is how employees and
management interact to reach organizational goals. Its purpose is to improve
organizational practices and reduce errors.

3. Job Opportunities
 Every job requires human interaction—whether it's with your supervisors and colleagues
or with clients and customers. Developing strong communication skills can help facilitate
these interactions with others, enabling you to perform your job more efficiently and
productively.

 It enables people to communicate to gain information and share ideas whether it is via
email, phone, meetings, or assistive technology, sharing also your thoughts was
