Name Villas, Kerby P. (STEM 12)

I. Put a check (✓) before the item if work is done on an object or person. Put (✖) if there is NO

object's motion is the same as the direction of the force applied.

2. If you lift a box up three stories, how much work do you do compared to lifting a box up

only one story? (4 pts.)

= You will do three times more work when lifting a box up three stories. Compared to lifting a
box up to only one story.

(5 pts. each problem)

WORK PROBLEM

Sheila has just arrived at the airport and is dragging her suitcase to the luggage check-in

desk. She pulls on the strap with a force of 190 N at an angle of 35° to the horizontal to

displace it 45 m to the desk. Determine the work done by Sheila on the suitcase.

KINETIC ENERGY PROBLEM

What is the Kinetic Energy of a 200 kg object that is moving with a speed of 30 m/s?

2
GRAVITATIONAL POTENTIAL ENERGY PROBLEM

A crane lifts a 90 kg mass at a height of 10 m. Calculate the gravitational potential energy

gained by the mass (g = 9.8 N/kg).

3
POWER PROBLEM

ground, how much power will he develop?
