Descriptions :

Single flower structure practicum with the aim of knowing the parts and arrangement
of flowers using three preparations, namely hibiscus flower, turi flower, and tasbih flower. A
single flower is a flower in which there is only one flower in one flower stalk. In the first
experiment using hibiscus flower preparations with the scientific name Hibiscus rosa-sinensis
L. from the Malvaceae family. There are seven parts of the hibiscus flower, namely the flower
stalk (pedicellus), additional petals (epicalyx), flower petals (calyx), flower crown (corolla),
long stalk (androgynophorum) which is where the stamens and pistil are attached, stamens
( stamen) is the male genitalia, and finally there is the pistil (pistillum) which is the female
genitalia. Androgynophorum and epicalyx are characteristic of hibiscus flowers. The type of
flower sitting on the hibiscus flower is flos lateralis / axillary, namely the flower is located in
the axil of the leaf. Meanwhile, flower ornaments (perianthium) actinomorphos with a shape
that can be divided into several symmetrical planes.

The second experiment used preparations of turi flower with the scientific name
Sesbania grandiflora L. from the Fabaceae family. The hallmark of the turi flower is that there
are three modified crowns, namely, a flag-shaped crown (vexillum), the largest crown is a
boat-shaped crown (carina), and a wing-shaped crown (alae). . Another part of the turi flower
is the petals (calyx) and flower stalks (pedicellus). The pistil (pistillum) as the male genitalia
and the stamen (stamen) as the male genitalia are determined by the flower parts so they must
be separated. The type of flower sitting is flos lateralis / axillary with flowers located in the
axils of the leaves. While the flower ornament (perianthium) zygomorphus can only be divided
into two parts by one symmetrical plane.

The third experiment used tasbih flower preparations with the scientific name Canna
hybrida from the Cannaceae family. The tasbih flower has two flower parts that are
characteristic of it, namely petaloid (sterile) stamenodia, namely sterile stamens shaped like
flower petals that do not have anthers so they cannot be a means of reproduction and only as
decoration. The next characteristic is that there are semi-sterile stamens that have anthers, but
only produce one TK (stamen production) in normal flowers can produce more than one TK.
Other parts of the tasbih flower are the flower crown (corolla), pistil (pistillum) as the female
genitalia, flower petals (calyx), ovary (ovary), and flower stalk (pedicellus). The type of flower
sitting is flos terminalis, ie the flowers are located at the end of the stem/twig. Meanwhile,
floral ornaments (perianthium) are asymmetrical, meaning they do not have a symmetrical
plane. There is a term "pickpocket casep" pickpocket stands for corolla which is the entire
flower crown and petals are the strands of the crown. Casep is an abbreviation of calyx which
is the whole flower petal and sepal which is a unitary strand of flower petals.
