4.1 Introductory Activity *Mood Setting
*Routine Activities
*The teacher shows flashes the photo of Marcelino Agana Jr., a playwright from the
Philippines who wrote the famous play, New Yorker in Tondo. She then asks the
following:
1. What kind of literature is the literary piece that you have read, New Yorker in
Tondo?
2. Why is it called drama?
Keywords: drama, played on stage, actors and actresses, etc.
Trivia!
4.2 Activity The class is divided into 4 groups.
The teacher posts trivia through a Powerpoint presentation. She then distributes strips
to each group. The group’s task is to write their answers on the strips and raise when
the teacher says so. There is a time limit of 5 seconds per question.
Correct answers will be counted and recorded. The teacher recognizes the winning
team/s.
4.3 Analysis

The groups are going to perform a short presentation choosing any scene of the play,
New Yorker in Tondo, portraying the characters and their roles. Someone from the
group is going to take a video of the performance for future viewing and role/ acting
assessment. (ICT integration)

director, script narrator, actors and actresses, props and costume designer,
videographer
