II (1)GD
[EEx ia] IIC (Ta = -20°C to +70°C)
SCHEDULE
13 DESCRIPTION OF EQUIPMENT
The Trendmaster Galvanic Isolator (TMGI) is associated apparatus that provides isolated intrinsically
safe outputs for connection to suitably-certified transducers. The TMGI is housed in a flame retardant
urethane enclosure and is designed to be installed in a location that provides protection against water
and windblown dust.
The power lines are nominally 15 Vac NRZ (Non-Return to Zero) and the transducers are addressed by
switching the power lines. The signal lines are nominally 3 Vac NRZ when transmitting data and up to
5 V analogue when reading the transducer signal.
The equipment has a maximum input voltage under fault conditions (Um) of 250 Vac and has the
following safety description at its intrinsically safe outputs:
Power Signal + Signal - Combined output

The installer should note that, if two or all three outputs are connected together, the combined output
is intrinsically safe for IIC gases and vapours. However, the maximum voltage for intrinsic safety
purposes is that obtained assuming one of the outputs is positive and the other output is negative.
Variation 1 - This variation introduced the following changes:
i. To allow the increase in the value of fuse F4 on Board 1 from 100 mA to 200 mA.
ii. The introduction of minor circuit changes to Board 2.
iii. To recognise changes to the label drawing.
Variation 2 - This variation introduced the following change:
i. The applicants name and address was changed from Bently Nevada Corporation 1617 Water
Street to that currently shown.

16 ESSENTIAL HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS OF ANNEX II (EHSRs)
The relevant EHSRs that are not addressed by the standards listed in this certificate have been
identified and individually assessed in the reports listed in Section 14.2.
17 CONDITIONS OF CERTIFICATION
17.1 The use of this certificate is subject to the Regulations Applicable to Holders of Sira Certificates.
17.2 Holders of EC type-examination certificates are required to comply with the production control
requirements defined in Article 8 of directive 94/9/EC.
17.3 The Trendmaster Galvanic Isolator (TMGI) covered by this certificate incorporate previously certified
devices, it is therefore the responsibility of the manufacturer to continually monitor the status of the
certification associated with these devices, and the manufacturer shall inform Sira of any modifications
of the devices that may impinge upon the explosion safety design of the Trendmaster Galvanic Isolator
(TMGI).
17.4 The manufacturer shall substitute, on the approved label affixed to the apparatus, the new company
name and address for the old company name and address.
