Manufacturing Remote Site Temporary Drawing Creation

1. Open drawing in Pro-E

z If the Model Shop stamp is the current rev, add your last name to the
"Mfg Approved By:" box.

z TO MODIFY TEXT IN A TABLE:

z Under the "Detail" menu, select "Modify"


z Under the "Modify Draw" menu select "Text"
z Select the text already in the block of the table you
want to modify
z On the "Edit line", cursor inside the right
bracket, }, and perform required modification.
Press "Enter" key when finished.

z Note: do not erase the zero-colon (0:) at


the beginning of the text string. It
contains the format instructions for that
text.
z If the only text in a box is a period (.)
delete it before adding new text
(example: in the block after "FPO?",
backspace to delete the period then type
the word YES or NO).

z If the Model Shop stamp is not the current one, you will need to delete
it.

z TO DELETE EXISTING TABLE:

z Under the "Drawing" menu, select "Table"


z Under the "Table" menu, select "Delete"

z Pick a location anywhere inside the


table
z Answer "YES" to the question "Do you
really want to delete the table?"

z If the Model Shop stamp is not there, you will need to add it

z TO ADD A NEW TABLE:

z Zoom in on the lower right corner of the drawing

z Under the "Detail" menu, select "Create"


z Under the "Detail Item" menu select "STD
TABLE"
z Double click "model_shop_stamp_horiz.tbl" file
from the "Open" window
z Locate the table directly under the lower right
corner of the drawing format so that the top of the
table is aligned with the bottom edge of the
drawing.
z Under the "Table" menu, select "Done/Return"

2. Click on "PRINT" button

3. In "Print" window, click button to the right of the "Destination" box


(COMMANDS AND SETTINGS)

z Choose "MORE PRINTERS"


z Scroll down and choose "test_ghost PDF Corp-Release" and
click "OK" button
z Make sure box in front of "To file" is checked and box in
front of "To printer" is not checked and click "OK" button

z In "Print to file" window, accept all defaults and


click "OK" button

4. Wait for "Plotter data file has been created" message. (Note: file created
will be placed in your C:/Temp directory. The file name will be your drawing
name with a .ps extension.)

5. Collapse or close Pro-E.

6. Double click "Ghost View" desktop icon

z In "GSview Registration" window, click "OK" button

7. Open file created in step (4)

z In "Document Structuring Conventions" window, click "OK"

z Drawing will automatically appear.

8. Under the "EDIT" pull down menu, choose "Convert to vector format"

z In "PS to Edit" window, chose "pdf: Adobe’s Portable


Document Format" and click "OK" button
z In "Select Pages" window, select pages you want to create
and click "OK" button
z Type drawing number into "File Name" box and make sure it
ends with a .pdf extension. (Note: the default file name will

be the last drawing created, not the current one you are
working on. Make sure you change it to the current drawing
you want to create.) Click "SAVE" button and wait for
hourglass to disappear. (Note: file created will be in your C:/
Temp directory)

9. Collapse or close Ghost View
