Update Format

z If parameters of an object in the drawing format are changed, the format will not
update unless it is replaced. Drawings-Add Format accept the default settings,
pick appropriate drawing format . Pick sheet number. It will prompt you to remove
tables from drawing. Key in Y for all of the tables except any tables where you
have manually filled in areas and do not want to loose the information, such as the
alpha rev blocks. You will have two text fields overlapping each other in any area
you keyed in N to. Go in and delete one of the fields using Detail-Delete.

Bulk Items

z If a bulk item’s quantity is incorrect (i.e. A/R, 2.0 FT). The object needs to have a
part type parameter added to it. Retrieve object into PRO E. Set Up-Parameters-
Create-String, type "PART_TYPE", type "INSTBULK". Set Up-Parameters-
Create-String type "QUANTITY", type "VALU. Set Up-Parameters-Create-
Yes/No type "BULK=YES". Save object and submit it to PRO PDM.
z Bulk items do not show BOM Balloons with the exception of tape.

Family Instances In Assembly Show As Separate Parts In Bill Of Material

z This is a problem that no acceptable workaround has been found. Preferred practice
in this situation is to pick the instance that satisfies all places the best and use it
everywhere. Do not bring in more than 1 Instance of the same part into an
assembly.
