examples.
Globalization, defined as an increase in worldwide interconnectivity, has led in the
spread of cultures, ideas, and religions throughout the last several centuries. Religion, like
other products and information, has expanded as we have interacted with previously
unreachable peoples throughout the world. Religions, such as Christianity, have extended to
previously unreached areas, while also generating consistency in how those religions are
practiced by geographically disparate people. There is a positive in that individuals
throughout the world may further unite around a shared religion with common customs;
nevertheless, there are negatives, as with globalization in general.

Church lost its privileged position, but it was a blessing in disguise since it ended not just
official assistance, but also government involvement and control of the Church.
