ANNOTATION

OBJECTIVE 2. Used researched-based knowledge and principles of teaching and learning to


enhance professional practice (Learning Objectives)
Specific Objectives
 The objectives are brief statements that describe what students will expect to learn by the
end of the lesson. It focuses on the constructivist approach because it focuses on the
whole child’s progress. Hands-on activities were provided to learners because they are
believed to be the most effective way of learning and are considered as true learning.
According to the Constructivism philosophy, students learn best when they engage in
real-life experiences.

OBJECTIVE 2. Used researched-based knowledge and principles of teaching and learning to


enhance professional practice (Instructional Activities)
Elicit
 In this section, I asked the students about their previous topics, which led to the new one.
This technique aligns with a constructivism philosophy wherein learners are focused
during the process. Learners were encouraged to think of the previous lesson in order to
connect and analyze the new topic.
Engage
 A constructivist believes that children are born as natural-active learners. Hence, in this
part, students answer the activity, arrange me to discover the different nail shapes. They
were able to analyze the difference between the two pictures in the activity, "How Do I
Look?".
Explore
 Cognitive constructivism states that knowledge is something that is actively constructed
by learners based on their existing cognitive structures. Therefore, learning is relative to
their stage of cognitive development, and by asking HOTS questions, the learners can
actively construct new knowledge about the lesson, and as the teacher, I handle this part
by adding probing questions to help learners understand the root of the question. Not only
this, students explored the different shapes of nails and came up with their own definition
of nail shapes.

 Through a PowerPoint presentation, I showed learners the different procedures for


cleaning fingernails and toenails. I allowed the learners to comprehend the discussed
procedure and acted only as a facilitator. This activity aligns with a constructivist theory
in regards to teaching wherein there is technology as a visual thinking tool in order not
only for them to think critically but to expand their knowledge, which allows them to
express their knowledge.

OBJECTIVE 2. Used researched-based knowledge and principles of teaching and learning to


enhance professional practice (Assessment)
Elaborate
 In the constructivist theory, if the teacher wants the learners to learn something, then they
must be allowed to learn the lesson in their own way, not just by what the book says, or
else they won’t remember that lesson the following week. In this part, I allowed the
learners to perform the cleaning of toenails and fingernails at their home, following the
given rubric and checklists for them to have an actual performance of what they learned
during the discussion.
Evaluate
 This activity will ensure the learners' mastery of nail shapes and procedures for cleaning
fingernails and toenails. The multiple-choice test is a constructivist-based learning theory
principle on learner self-evaluation. This encourages learners to perform self-evaluation
to monitor their progress.
Extend
 According to Lev Vygotsky, learning is influenced mainly by social interaction. In this
part, students were tasked with creating their own mini-parlor together with their
classmates within their barangay. I want the following learners to not only learn by doing
but also to socialize with their classmates, following the minimum health protocol.
