Chapter 1.
INTRODUCTION:
“ADOPT A PLANT” in this project our aim is to spreading
greenery by planting a greater number of plants and adopting
already existing trees and taking care of them until they get
matured.
We all know that plants are primary producers of food chain,
and also plants & trees are the main source of oxygen producers
and they are absorb carbon dioxide, provide habitat and food
for wildlife and humans, and regulate the water cycle, so
Humans are responsible to take care of the plants & trees.
Plants are living entities that have a significant impact on our
lives. According to science, they belong to the Plantae
kingdom. Botany is the study of plants and their features. Plants
and trees play a vital role in our lives. Plants are inextricably
linked to our life, and we are both dependant on one another.
Plants supply us with a variety of fruits, vegetables, oxygen,
and other things, and we assist them in the removal of carbon
dioxide. Plants aid in the preservation of the ecosystem. We all
know that plants and trees are very essential for our
environment but we still chop down trees for various reasons.
A plant that grows into a large tree or a fully grown plant
requires a lot of attention. Therefore, once the valuable
resources are depleted, it will take years to get them back. It is
now the time to understand the value of the plants and work
more towards the plantation of more and more trees.

Chapter 2: Identification of problems
Identifying the problems through an article
By collecting the information, I observed many things
day by day the number of plants and tress number is
going to be decreased.

Here is the data that which I collected.

(After reading this article I understood that number of trees are cutting down per
every year)

(I went to village a named rayalam in Andhra Pradesh at there
I observed cutting down)

Problems that will raise due to cutting down

plants & trees
1.Global warming
2.soil erosion
3.Floods
4.Desrtification
5.Melting of icebergs

1. Global warming
The term Global warming defines the gradual increase in the
temperature of earth surface, this happens due to the increased
levels of Carbon dioxide and CFC and other pollutants.

Fig :1.3
(I taken a picture of a paper mill in the village Vendra, Andhra Pradesh

2.Soil erosion
The term soil erosion defines the transfer of fertile soil from
one place to another due the heavy rainfalls or floods.

Fig 2.1
(The roots of plants can hold the solid)

Fig 2.2
(The plants can reduce the soil erosion)
3.Floods
Due to deforestation, the water holding capacity of the soil
decreases. The movement of water through trees into the soil
slows down. The water of the rainfall collects on the surface
which results in flood.

(This is a picture collected from NDTV news to identify
Deforestation causes floods)

(A picture in which we can able to see how the deforestation leads to
floods taken from the internet)
4.Desertification
Deforestation causes soil erosion or removal of fertile top layer
of the soil. As the upper fertile layer of the soil is removed by
the erosion, the soil quality decrease day by day. And
eventually converts it to a Desert as the soil is no more suitable
for plants.

Fig 4.1

5.Melting of icebergs
Due to deforestation global warming will occurs, this
temperature causes the melting of the icebergs and glaciers.

CHAPTER 3
CAUSES FOR THE PROBLEMS
In the first chapter I understood the problems raised due
to cutting down of trees.
Now, in this chapter I will come to know what are the
causes for problems.
I. Deforestation
➢ Deforestation causes global warming. The reason behind
this is if we cut down the tress then automatically the
harmful gases will not be absorbed by the plants and tress
so that these gases will raise the temperature on the earth.
Deforestation causes Soil erosion. We already discussed
in chapter 1. That the roots of plants and trees can the hold
the top most layer of fertile soil, so that when heavy winds
or heavy rains raised then these roots of plants and tress
can help to reduce the soil erosion.

II. Lack of awareness in people
➢ Now a days the people are very busy in their professional
field,
➢ No one will think about the plants and trees, just they are
taking the resource from plants and trees.
➢ The main source from forest is Wood and medicine plants,
the people in this world are cutting down the trees for their
needs but they are not planting again.
➢ In chapter - fig1.3 we can see the survey in that how many
trees are cutdown in each state.
➢ By that article we can able to understand that there is lack
of Awareness among the people.
➢ By this lack of awareness, people are cutting are cutting
the trees and plants without any fear.

(Identifying the people cutting trees in Rayalam village

Andhra Pradesh.)

III. No protection for plants
➢ If there is no protection provided for the newly planted
tress and plants then the domestic animals like Cows and
boffolas.
➢ Will graze those plants, so the protection is more
important for newly planted plants.

Fig 3.3(providing protection for the plant)

Chapter 4
Objectives of the project
❖ The main objective of the project is to plant greater number
of plants in my near by villages and to aware the people
about the plants and trees and to tell what are the problems
that will raise due to deforestation, so that they will
understand what are the consequences we will face in future
generation.

❖ the objective of the project is to spread the awareness about

the how the plants are playing an important role in human
life and we will spread awareness about the how to protect
the newly planted plants from domestic plants.

❖ And also, we will motivate the people to do plantation in

their area by using motivative quotes. We will bring change
in the society and we will bring the change in the people
mind to save the trees and plants.

❖ I observe that the number of plants and trees are more in

villages compared to the cities. So, my objective of this
projective to increase the number of plants in the cities for
this I used my innovative approach and I made many things
to achieve this all objectives of the project.

Chapter:5
Various steps taken to achieve the objectives
1.Planting the plants
We started planting use-full plants in nearby my area. I taken a
neem plant and planted the beside of the road. The reason that
why I planted the NEEM plant is, we all know that the neem
tree can absorb a lot of carbon dioxide and gives us pure oxygen
in to the atmosphere so that humans can survive better.
I planted the plant on 1st June 2022.

Fig 5.1(dig the soil for plantation). fig 5.2(proof of plantation)

Steps that we followed to plant neem plant
➢ Dig the soil with width slightly more than the width of the
root of the neem plant.
➢ After this planted that neem plant in to that whole and
cover up with soil.
➢ Provide the sufficient water to that the plant.

Fig 5.3
(Planting the neem plant)
➢ I provided protection from domestic animals for the newly
planted plants.
➢ I take care of that plant every day till the plant get
matured.
➢ This is how we planted the plant and I take care of it
for some days and now it was living independently
and gives oxygen directly in the atmosphere.

Fig 5.4
(The picture plant that which I planted after 30 days)

2.Aware the people through social media
➢ Now a days almost the people are using mobile
phones, so that I made a decision to send the message
to all my relatives and friends in just a single
message.
➢ In that message I mentioned why we need to plant
the plants and what are the importance of plants.
➢ We mentioned like this- All know that plants always
absorb harmful carbon dioxide and gives us pure
oxygen into the atmosphere, due to cutting of plants
and trees, excess carbon dioxide and CFC will stay
on the Earth atmosphere so that these gases absorb
large amount of heat from the sun and reflects back
into the earth surface again thus it will occur the raise
in the temperature on the earth surface this
phenomenon is called Global warming.
➢ And also, mentioned that what are the consequences
and problems that we face if we are not aware of
plants.
➢ By this message there is possibility to plant at least
to plant single plant when they get chance.

Here is the proof for creating the awareness among

people through social media.

Fig 5.5(Aware the people through WhatsApp)

Fig 5.6(Aware the people through Instagram)

3.pasting posters on useless walls
➢ I think innovatively in this project and I make the
posters with go green quotes and I distributed to the
children’s and also, I pasted that on some unwanted
walls.
➢ We made some posters like this and pasted on the
unwanted walls in nearby my area.
➢ By pasting the quote pictures on the walls, people will
come to know about the plants and their importance
in the daily life.
➢ This method works a lot to bring awareness among
the people.

Fig5.7
(Pasting posters on the walls)

4.Distributing the small plants
➢ I started distributing plants to the people in my area
so that we can able to increase the number of plants.
➢ By distributing the plants to the people, they will get
some interest towards growing plants.
➢ They will come to know what are importance of
plants in human life.
➢ I’m not only distributing the plants I guided to them
how to plant and how to provide protection to it.
➢ I told to the people “Cutting of trees leads to
accumulation of Carbon-dioxide in the atmosphere.
CO2 traps heat rays from the sun which are reflected
by the earth. This results in an increase in
temperature on earth. An increase in temperature
disturbs the water cycle which causes draughts and
floods.”
➢ We can reduce this soil erosion by planting a greater
number of plants and trees. The roots of plants and
tress helps a lot to reduce these this soil erosion.
➢ So, with this people show interest and they will
come to know about the problems if we cut down the
plants and trees.

5.Donating money to green grow to adopt a
plant.
I heard about the green grow organization, I donated 85 rupees
to that organization to adopt a plant.
This is the organization that plant the trees on our name, under
this community development project I donated money to this
organization, they given the location of plant and certification
as a proof.

Chapter 6
Effectiveness of the project:
In this project was taken to aware the people about the
plants and trees, and to aware the people about the
problems that which we face when we cut down plants
and trees.
I chosen the topic adopt a plant because to make the
people aware and to make them innovative about the
plantations.
By the end of this project, I planted two neem plants and
take care of the them for thirty days now they are living
independently and by the end of the project I aware the
people about the plants and trees, I made posters and
slogans on trees and plants and I pasted that poster in
village walls by this I aware many children.

During the project I thought innovatively and I did text
messages about this plants and trees to all of my friends
and my family members in WhatsApp and Instagram by
these I got reply from many people, this method helps me
a lot to aware the people through smart phones.

In this project I distributed plants to the people those who

are having space to grow and tree and those who are
interested to take care of plants, by this disturbing and
making aware of people I got good response from the
people.

Conclusion:
In this project we made a small initiative to bring the
change in society, we tried to aware the people about the
plants and trees and their importance in our life.
Trees gives us a lot but we didn’t do any think for them,
trees can balance water cycle and global temperature,
planting a tree is the best way to control the global
warming, even if a person plant a single tree on monthly
the earth becomes more greenery so that we will control
global warming and other problems.
Tress can improve the air quality and they can absorb
harmful gases like carbon dioxide, ozone, sulphur
dioxide from the air that we breath, tress absorb all these
gases all release pure oxygen into the air, trees can
control the soil erosion and they can hold the soil during
floods and trees can make the life nicer, from trees many
medicines will manufacture and trees can give us
environmental benefits, in this project I try to convey all
these things by different programs like planting neem
trees, distributing plants and making posters on plants.
From all these things we can conclude that plants are the
most valuable things in this world and we have the
responsibility to plant new plants and taking care of
already existing plants.
