Course Description: The course will be intended the students to allow individuals to understand the relationships that
science technology and society share in our everyday world. This course contributes to the student’s ability to think clearly
and express their ideas and feelings orally and in writing, with clarity and with logic. They will also use a learner’s and
activity book and independent learning assignments are included in the course.

ATTENDANCE:
If you are absent, then it is your responsibility to retrieve any work you missed while you were gone. Absent students are responsible for
checking the recording and the Assignment Folder for homework. Work not turned in while you were absent will not be counted as late as
long as it is turned in the day you return to school.

80% class attendance (checked only during the first 10 minutes of each class)
CHEATING/ PLAGIARISM
Cheating and/or plagiarism is not tolerated. Any students who cheats or plagiarizes will not receive a score for the assignment. Additional
disciplinary action may be taken at the discretion of the teacher. Cheating and plagiarism includes, but is not limited to, copying homework,
classwork, test answers, talking during a test or quiz, using prohibited technology during a benchmark, allowing someone to copy your work, or
trying to pass off someone else’s work as your own.
GRADING Policies:
EDUSN Digital School
This course follows standard based grading practices to determine the student’s overall final grade that is recorded at the end of each semester.
Students will be evaluated on their overall proficiency of the high priority standards associated with this course. The teacher will evaluate
student work and assessments to determine their skill level and assign a score of 1-4 based on the scale below. The overall grade will be
determined by averaging the scores on the high priority standards.
Score Grading scale
41-Advanced A: 4.0-3.33
31-Proficient B: 3.32-2.70
21-Basic C: 2.69-2.0
20-Below Basic NP: 1.0-1.99
*NP=No Progress (Student will not earn credit for the course)
Parents and students will receive online access to their grades and can check them at any time.
MAKEUP EXAMS/RETAKES:
Students will be given multiple opportunities to demonstrate proficiency in the high priority standards. A makeup exam or retake will be given at
the discretion of the teacher. Requirements for makeup exams or retakes may include but are not limited to: teacher-parent conferences, teacher-
student conferences, attending tutoring, and/or completion of prerequisite work.
EXTRA CREDIT:
No extra credit will be given for this course. Student grades will be based solely on student mastery of the high priority standards.
