COURSE DESCRIPTION

This is the first experiential course, which will immerse a future teacher to actual classroom
situation and learning environment where direct observation of teaching learning episodes that
focuses on the application of educational theories learned in content and pedagogy courses
will be made. Observation of learners’ behavior, motivation, teacher’s strategies of teaching,
classroom management, assessment in learning among others shall be given emphasis using
various data collection technique applicable in a specified setting. A paper-based
portfolio/eportfolio shall be required in the course.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is the sequel of Prof Ed 111- Field Study 1 (Observation of Teaching-Learning in Actual School
Environment). A school-based course which allows pre-service teachers to participate and assist in a
limited remote/teaching-learning activities that relate to assessment of learning, preparation of High Impact
Teaching Strategies (HITS) instructional materials, preparation of actual/virtual classrooms, and other
routines applicable in various teaching platforms. An e-portfolio/portfolio which will contain sample
lesson/learning plans, E/Class record/DepEd forms, Sample one way Table of Specifications (TOS), Test
Examination and actual/online demonstrate teaching of at least one subject content will be required. An
action research plan shall be crafted/prepared, proposed and presented in this course and shall be
concluded during the internship.

ETIQUETTE
1. Observe punctuality and courtesy.
2. Wear your proper uniform during presentation and field
observation.
3. Focus on observations. Avoid causing distractions.
4. No foul words during presentation and field observation.
5. Private conversations during observations are not allowed.
6. Respect shall be observed for the teacher and students.
Class Policies and Procedures
Class Attendance (Article 2, Section 14 of PSU Student Handbook)

• A student who has a record of ten (10) unapproved absences from the class, and/or
has been absent for more than 20 percent of the required number of hours without any
valid reason are automatically dropped from the subject
• Approved absences are limited only to illness as certified by a physician, death of a
family member, official and authorized representation of Campus/ University in official
function/ activities and other reasons as may be deemed justified by the faculty
concerned.
• For excused absences, it is the student’s responsibility to seek out missed
assignments. Students should check the class FB page or group messenger and other
students for notes, handouts, etc.

Classroom Expectations

• Be Prepared. You and only you are responsible for your grade. Earn the good grade you
deserve by coming to class prepared. Complete reading assignments and other homework
before class so that you can understand the lecture and participate in discussion. Have your
homework ready to submit.
• Be Participative. Be ready and willing to participate in classroom discussions. Contribute
proactively to class discussions, offer ideas or ask questions.
• Be on Time. Be aware on your online class schedule and join the meeting 2 mins prior to the
scheduled time. Make sure to stay on the meeting until the end.
• Be Respectful. Any action that bothers another student or the teacher or any disruptive
behavior in class is considered disrespectful. Demonstrate proper respect for teachers,
other students, and school property. Listen to others and evaluate ideas on their own merit.

Academic Honesty and Class Conduct

• Plagiarism and other forms of intellectual dishonesty will not be tolerated. An automatic
grade of 5.00 will be given to submitted homework, laboratory report and research.
• Cheating in Examination and Quizzes (Article 14, Section 1-n of PSU Handbook)
• 1st Offense: Automatic grade of 5.00 in the examination where cheating occurred.
Referral to guidance and counseling.
• 2nd offense: Automatic grade of 5.0 if done on the same subject and/or other subjects
and suspension for one semester.
• 3rd offense: Automatic grade of 5.0 in the subjects and suspension of one semester to
dismissal from the institution

All outputs will be subjected to plagiarism scan.

Guidelines on late submissions

• Outputs submitted one day late will be automatically DEDUCTED with 5% the original score.
• The later the output is submitted the bigger the deductions.
• One week late (-10%), Two weeks late (-15%), more than two weeks (automatic grade of
5.00 on the activity)

Guidelines for Participation

• Be active during discussions. Classroom behavior will be observed.


• Active participation in class means the student must have the ability to listen well and follow
instructions efficiently.
• Follow guidelines in attendance, classroom expectations, and field activities.
• The class mayor and secretary shall be in charge on recording the class attendance.

uploaded in your designated MS Teams. Make
sure to check your team from time to time to be
updated on the deadline of submission for the
activities.
