• By-laws (5 minutes)
o Ms. Dalton sent email- making sure everyone is receiving emails
o SLT Training date at the end of November 11/22
• Update by Ms. Militello
o Diagnostic screeners- iready (K-2-math), acadience (K-2-ELA)- K-5 does
iReady math and iReady ELA (3-5), Dessa- social emotional screener
o F&P- part of MOSL (running record)
o 10/21 for teachers, 10/28 for whole city
o by next SLT should have results
o F&P part of CEP but also MOSL-Measures of Student Learning
o Teachers rated by observations and how students do academically
o Enrichment clubs- part of parent survey- parents wanted more enrichment
o 4th and 5th surveyed and picking clubs

o Students did a club fair based on interests- trying to give 5th graders first
choice, trying to give everybody 1st choice
o 2 parents running photography club with a teacher
o Ms. Mona put out survey to see if parents were interested in helping with
clubs- do not need to be a 4th or 5th grade parent

o work as a team, different per grade
o Want to start after school- targeting our special education students for
more support

• No science test on 4th grade, next year taking it on 5th grade
• Level 3 is grade level, Level 2 is approaching, Level 1 below
• Science test has not changed in many years, questions on state test haven’t
changed- questions from K-4th grade
• A lot of level 1 in math- exemplars and math notebooks for support to build up
scores
• Reading notebook for reading response
• Teacher teams: Correlation of what is happening in the classroom, while
authentic connects to skills needed for test
• Scores pretty much aligned with nearby schools and city
• Strategy: Ex: exposing 2nd graders to 3rd grade skills

• Kindergarten- concerned with so many being on Level B?
• 1st grade – hardest grade, but made progress at end of year
• 2nd grade- grade to watch, very high readers- correlating skills to writing
• 3rd grade-
• 4th graders- 4th grade in ELA was on grade level 44.7%- F&P doesn’t match- being
able to read and write responses
• annotating text- react to text, make a connection, character traits
• Acadience
• Timed assessment
• Very fluid
• Example: initial sounds
• In kindergarten- recognizing letters and sounds
• In First grade- beginning sound in word, letter name taken away, phonemic
awareness

• Many of students in K- did really well on letter id, challenged with sounds

• similar grades to state data

• progression to strengths
• Mr. Quay has started a boys club- teachers have identified who need support
• Family Survey
• Pre-K- question regarding which school would be best for their child- 45%
• Did receive outreach
• Zoom or in person- application to rank schools
• Only 55% of families answered surveys

• Found a retired paraprofessional staff would be able to volunteer teaching
• Vote/approve stipend
• Options: Parent volunteer- library intern/college student/school aide- hire a sub
school aide to replace where Lisa would be
• Money is tied up for per session and per diem
• Library is a shared space- being used for as a quasi-classroom
• Can’t get funding without licensed librarian in full time capacity
• Update from Parent Association (5 minutes)
• Parent Pastry after the PA meeting
• Happening in the morning, in gymatorium
• Get budget approved next week, enrichment clubs can draw from
• Anything in bank is surplus
