EXERCISE NO: 8

BASIC COMPONENT OF THE FILM

INSTRUCTION: Draw and label the basic parts and layer of the film.

CONCLUSION:

In this figure it shows the basic parts and layer of a film. Photographic films are composed of several layers.
These layers include the base, the emulsion, the anti- halation backing and the protective coating. The thickest base
of the layers supports the other layers. originally The base was glass. But today, the base can be made from any
number Materials from paper to aluminum. The bottom layer of the film is a very dark material, prevents halation.
This anti-halation backing prevents the transmission of light Reflected back from the film and the reflective surface
beneath it movie. Light is reflected diagonally, so the reflected light does not return. The same angle as it hits the
reflective surface. The top layer of film protects the fragile emulsion from human hands. There is always an oily
substance in the skin that will occur if transferred to the emulsion Effectively ruin the movie. The protective layer
also protects the emulsion Light scratches and abrasions. The protective layer is washed away during shooting
process.

Objective: Develop skill in the preparation of chemicals for photographic paper developing.

EXERCISE NO: 9

FILM DEVELOPMENT

INSTRUCTION: Draw and discuss the process of chemical process and film development.

CONCLUSION:

Photography is at the heart of modern life, and most people know, at least to some extent, that film can be
processed in the darkroom, but the process of developing the film itself is less well known. There are many ways to
develop a film, but they all depend on a variety of chemicals. The process of developing black-and-white film is
almost the same as the process of developing color film, and consists of the same basic steps. However, it's a little
easier than developing color film. With black and white film, all parts of the image are developed in the same color.
All films need to develop three chemicals: developer, stop bath and fixer

Objective: Familiarization of the basic darkroom equipment and apparatus that use in film development

EXERCISE NO: 10

BASIC DARK ROOM EQUIPMENT/ TOOLS IN FILM DEVELOPMENT

INSTRUCTION: Draw and label at least five equipment for film development.

CONCLUSION:
The equipment used to process film varies greatly with the volume of film to be processed. The equipment outlined
here is the minimum needed to process small numbers of angiograms in a private ophthalmology office. Practices
which perform twenty to fifty angiograms per day may dedicate large areas to darkroom facilities and may resort to
the purchase of sophisticated automated film processing equipment
