WRITING ASSIGNMENT – LESSON 3

Unit: 5
Topic:

Some people think that parents have a great influence on their children. Others believe that the
media is a bigger influence.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

 1st draft

Many people claim that parents have a great influence on their children. Most of us have
spend a lot of time to stay with our parents during childhood to adolencense, so part of our
personality, habits, way of thinking, and expression is often the same as theirs. But that's not
all. So the following essay takes a look at both sides of the argument.

There are many other things that will affect our cognitive process, and media is one of the
biggest. In my opinion, nowadays, young children tend to exposure with media the way too
much. That why the influence of media into young children is inevitable. Despite the fact that
children are staying with their parents, but their personalities still reflect what they are
absorb online. If parents take time to scan all the news or games, entertain information that
their children see and play everyday, it will less bad-affected. But if not, the children who
have been affect by bad media everyday will turn to unpredictable consequences.

 Final version

Many people claim that parents have a great influence on their children. Most of us have

have been affect by bad media everyday will turn to unpredictable consequences.

Weighing up both sides of the argument, I think the media will have more of an impact on
children's development. While parent's influence is still important, it is inevitable in this
modern days.
