The Williams Farm Park Staffing Plan

Jen Glaze, Allie McClure, and Eric Chaney

Museum Administration - Dr. Ann McCleary

Fall 2021
1

Executive Summary

The Williams Farm Park in Villa Rica, Georgia is a 220-acre area containing an 1891 farm house, a barn,
historic agricultural outbuildings, historic gardens, a campsite from the New Deal era that was used by the
Civilian Conservation Corps, older house sites, and Avemore Village– a senior living community and retail
area. The staffing plans for the Williams Farm Park appropriately address and fulfill the needs of the site
at each level. The budgets for these proposed human resources plans are modest considering the age of
the site as a historic park, and because of the presented funding, our team suggests that there are no live
animals for the first year until more funding is secured to hire caretakers for livestock. Overall, our team
considered the national average pay of both salaried and hourly positions in similar fields when creating
these plans.

The Williams Farm Park’s operating season will last from March 1 to the Friday before Thanksgiving, and
the park will be open for special events around Christmas as well. The daily hours during the operating
season will be from 9AM to 3PM and will be open Wednesday through Saturday. Each plan works with
the funding allotted to give the farm the appropriate amount of staff to successfully operate the farm.
