1. Before Rizal's death on December 30, 1896, he is said to have signed a document recanting all
claims he had made against the Spanish government, the friars, and the church. So, whether
true or not, the revocation problem has begun. Therefore, on the day of Rizal's execution, he
was placed in solitary confinement. He was accompanied by Senor Tabierde Andrade and the
Jesuit priest Vila Clara. Hours passed and Plaza's assistant, Senor Maule, asked Rizal if he wanted
anything. Then Rizal asked for a prayer book. It was brought by a priest named March. Later that
morning, Father Balaguer, the priest who attended the execution, testified that he saw Rizal
make several rude awakenings. He confesses, celebrates Mass, receives communion, and prays
the Rosary four times. After Senior Andrade left, Rizal spoke at length with the Jesuit March and
Villa Clara on religious matters. As it happened, the two submitted a cancellation form to Rizal to
drop all charges, but he refused to sign it. They got into a fight about it, but after that Rizal
invited the two of them to go write, and they spent a long time writing alone. In the afternoon
Father March entered the chapel and Rizal handed him what he had written. Firing chief Senor
Del Fresno and Plaza's assistant Senor Maule were immediately notified. They went to death
row and, together with Rizal, signed a document written by the defendant. This seems to have
been a retraction. Make a point or argument for this resource.

Fr. Vicente Balaguer is the point of view or argument that I do not accept. Balaguer, Vicente in
his testimony, he claimed to have witnessed Rizal's repeated rude awakenings, confession,
celebration of mass, reception of communion, and four (4) rounds of the rosary. determining
that he is a key witness and involved in the Retraction. However, the Cuerpo de Vigilancia,
Spanish spies present on the day of the execution, claimed to have recorded every individual
who entered Rizal's cell, and shockingly, none of them were Fr. Vicente Balaguer was involved
during the time. a judgment that Fr. Balaguer is a second-hand witness who was questioned by
Fr. Villaclara and Fr. March to amplify a point.
