Workshop Description
Workshop Summary (include theme):
“KULTURUAN: Share your Culture (Working Title)” is an interactive event commemorating the
celebration of Intercultural Education Week wherein we invite our 10 foreign exchange students within
Metro Manila and Cavite to share their culture to a Filipino audience and create an understanding
between these cultures. The event is open to all but it will give priority to AFS host families, AFS
volunteers, friends, and classmates.
Project Objectives:
● To commemorate intercultural education week
● To remove the stereotype and bridge gaps in understanding between the Filipino culture and the
Foreign cultures (Italy, Germany, and Japan)
● To equip our Filipino participants the knowledge shared about these countries in order to share
to others as well
● To interact with different nationalities immersing within the Filipino culture
Implementation Timeline:
Please include the date by which you plan to first discuss this event with the U.S. Embassy and the date
by which you plan to invite Embassy staff to attend and/or speak at the welcome or other workshop
session.
AFS IPP Metro Manila Community - YES Alumni will be responsible for reaching out to the interested
participants. The participants will be chosen based on their availability and desire to attend the
conference. 50 participants will be selected to monitor crowd control and to adhere to COVID19
restriction event guidelines. The target participants should fit the criteria of the following:
● Fully-vaccinated
● Lives within Metro Manila and Cavite
● Has interest in intercultural events
November 1-12
● Google Form Registration will be posted on social media accounts.
November 14
● The first 50 participants who registered will be sent email and directions to the event prior
November 19.
● AFS IPP Metro Manila Community Facebook page would be responsible for the social
media engagement plan for this project and YES Alumni Philippines Facebook page
would reshare its posts. The publication materials included are but not limited to:
○ Facebook/Instagram stories
○ Facebook/Instagram posts
○ Youtube short video summarization of the conference
● Before the event, a registration google form will be released asking the participants
interests about intercultural education and their initial overview about it. This
pre-assessment shall serve as a basis for the success of the event after an evaluation
survey is given to them after the event.
● After the event, a link to a survey will be emailed to all attendees in order to get their
feedback on the program. Their responses will be incorporated into the published
materials posted on the community page and will be taken into account when future
project proposals are prepared.
