BIG FAMILY VS THE ONLY CHILD

In the past, it was strange that a couple had less than two children but nowadays the
tendency it’s is just the opposite. Actually, thereThere are more families with only
one child than with some brothersmore siblings. If we investigate about it, we’ll find
different opinions.

On the one hand, there are people that think that being an only child hasn’t tomust be
bad for the a personperson's development. On the other hand, some people say that
growing up with many brothers it’ssay that growing up with many brothers is better
for the children. What do you think about it?

As I see it, growing as an only child can be positive for the person because parents can
educate him better. It reduces parent’sparents’ economic efforts and allows them
havingto have more time to educate him/her better, without the worries of looking
after many children.

Don’t you think that being an only child one can be selfish?

How many brothers and sisters do you have? Did you use it to share things?

What I think is that an only child is usually selfish. Children that have got brothers are
used to sharesharing their things betweenwith them. On the other hand, the only
children don’t have to share anything of their things or places.

Don’t you think that having brothers and sisters children are more creative?

There are researches which conclude those only children are more imaginative and
creatives. This is because when they want to play, they need to use more their
imagination as they don’t have a playmate.

Do you think that the only children are more independent?

Only children can be parents-dependent because they are the ones who live with
them. They are used to sharing all the time with them when they are at home.
Consequently, only children usually talk more and better with adults than with other
children. This dependence dependency can be a problem once the person growths and
wants to leave home.

In my opinion, your brother/sister can help you during all your life. At the end of the
day, it’s a person withof a similar age than as yours, who is living in the same context.
Brotherhood it’sBrotherhood’s a kind of special friendship. You can have a fluent
relationship with him/her or not, but except in extreme situations, brothers normally
answer when they are needed.
AsIn a conclusion, the best growinggrowth will depend on the parent’s dedication. It
doesn’t matter if the child has brothers or not. Both situations have positive inputs in
their development process. Personally, as a member of a two-children-familytwo-
children family, I think that having a brother is a good experience because it provides
you ofwith a good and unconditional friend for all your life.
