To whom it may concern:

I am recommending Sarai Lopez for New Nurse Graduate Program. I have been Sarai’s
simulation nurse faculty during her time in the program and was able to engage with her one-on-
one for skills practice sessions and an independent simulation during her first semester in the
program. I have observed many positive attributes through our personal interactions as well as
through her group simulation experiences in levels 1 and 2. She has excellent assessment skills,
demonstrates thoughtful and safe practice, can identify and address safety errors, addresses
patient presentation and concerns holistically, identifies and provides patient-centered education,
and utilizes therapeutic communication expertly. I feel she will be an asset to any organization
she chooses.

Sarai has experience in a variety of areas, including food service, customer service, library
assistance, and banking. She has also volunteered at St. Joseph’s hospital and has worked in
home care. These experiences have taught her how to communicate effectively with patients and
families while maintaining a personable demeanor, prioritize competing needs of patients, work
efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and work proficiently with various technology and
computer programs. She is also fluent in both English and Spanish, which is an enormous asset.

Sarai has good standing in the BSN-IH program and values lifelong learning, rising to
challenges, and being active. She has completed rotations in long-term care, public health, med-
surg, obstetrics, and pediatrics. This semester she will participate in psychiatric and critical care
rotations. Through these rotations she has fine-tuned her communication and documentation
skills, as well as independence with safe medication administration and patient education.

Her clinical interests lie in emergency department, ICU, and oncology nursing care, and she
would be able to apply her interest and knowledge in any area. She is drawn to the ED due to its
fast-paced nature, the variety of patient presentations, and the necessity to assess and prioritize
quickly and efficiently. The ICU is of interest due to the requirement for precision and careful
attention to detail. Oncology is an area Sarai is very interested in, particularly because of the
variety of nursing interventions she would become proficient in and the opportunity to support
patients during difficult times. Sarai is thoughtful, motivated, efficient, and a good
communicator, and I believe she will succeed in any care area.
