training. It was created by a doctor and physiologist combination to help people
improve their exercise fundamentals.

 What are the basic steps of aerobic dance?


 The most fundamental aerobics moves are side steps, front steps, and back steps. The
jumping jack is one of the most basic high-impact aerobics moves. The exerciser stands
with his feet together and jumps into the air, spreading his feet shoulder width apart.
 What makes a good aerobic dancing workout?
 Dance aerobics is a sort of fitness program in which participants dance to improve their
physical fitness. To achieve aerobic advantages from any workout, the heart rate must
be raised for a long length of time; this promotes cardiovascular health by building
heart and lung endurance.

Activity: 12 Minutes Aerobic Dance Workout for Beginners at Home

I. Rationale: In this activity, students will watch an aerobic dance video, and then
they will imitate the movements of the professional trainer for a 12-minute
aerobic dance exercise.

II. Objectives: The students will:


a. watch an aerobic dance workout performed by a professional trainer;
b. copy her aerobic dance moves;
c. be motivated to do their aerobic dance exercise to achieve a healthier
lifestyle; and
d. improve their mental health in addition to their physical well-being.

III. Time Frame: 10 minutes

IV. Materials Needed: An aerobics workout film, a TV set, Smartphone

V. Method
1. Explain to students that as they watch the aerobics workout, they will imitate
the professional trainer's movements.

A glossary is a list of terms (and their definitions) limited to a specific subject or field. Write a
glossary of specialized terms of aerobic dances, provide a definition each and cite your sources using
the APA format. Use your library or the Internet to accomplish the glossary template chart.

Type of Aerobic Definition


Dance
1. Jazzercise Jazzercise is a dance-based group fitness program. Each 60-minute Jazzercise
class features a fusion of jazz dance, resistance training, Pilates, yoga,
kickboxing, and Latin-style movements set to popular music. The Jazzercise
program was founded in 1969 by Jazzercise CEO Judi Sheppard Missett.
Today, Jazzercise involves 7,800 instructors teaching more than 32,000
classes weekly in all 50 states and 32 countries.

2. Zumba Zumba is a dance fitness program created by Colombian dancer and


choreographer Alberto "Beto" Perez during the 1990s. Zumba involves dance
and aerobic elements. Zumba's choreography incorporates hip-hop, soca,
samba, salsa, merengue, mambo, martial arts, and some Bollywood and belly
dance moves.

3. Hip-Hop Aerobics Hip-hop aerobics is a form of exercise that blends dance moves with
strengthening exercises. Most of the time, this sort of aerobics is designed to
feel more like dancing than exercising. It is usually paired with fast-tempo
hip-hop music, and incorporates many of the moves common to the dance
style. The goal is not to learn routines or put on performances, however.
People participate in hip-hop aerobics in order to get a good cardiovascular
workout, and to tone muscles in the arms, legs, and abdominal region.

4. Step Aerobics Step aerobics is a form of aerobic power distinguished from other types of
aerobic exercise by its use of an elevated platform. The height can be tailored

to individual needs by inserting risers under the step. Step aerobics classes
are offered at many gyms and fitness centers which have a group exercise
program. Step aerobics was innovated by Gin Miller around 1989. After a
knee injury, Gin consulted with an orthopedic doctor, who recommended she
strengthen the muscles supporting the knee by stepping up and down on a
milk crate and from this she developed the step regimen. Step aerobics can
also be involved in dancing games, such as Dance Dance Revolution or In the
Groove.

5. Aqua Dance AquaDance(tm) is a new water aerobics format that combines traditional
Aerobics water aerobics moves and popular dance styles. It is meant to be an uplifting,
fun, and positive experience for all participants -- a class where everyone can
feel accepted, get a great workout, and have fun talking, dancing, and
exercising in the water.

6. Ballroom Dancing a type of dancing where two people use special steps and movements to do
dances such as the waltz or tango together

7. Belly Dancing a Middle Eastern dance in which the dancer makes sensuous movements of
the hips and abdomen

8. Break Free Dance break dancing, also called breaking and B-boying, energetic form of dance,
fashioned and popularized by African Americans and Latinos, that includes
stylized footwork and athletic moves such as back spins or head spins.
Break Free is the first routine in the Just Dance series whose lyrics are
highlighted in black.
9. Pump It Up pump It Up is a brand new concept, mixing clubbing dance moves with
Aerobic Dance aerobic exercise to produce a fast, effective and hugely enjoyable way of
getting fit and burning that unwanted fat.
