Reading 1

Dance Aerobics

This is the type of Aerobics that is being done by most of the people who
wanted to exercise. We have been engaging in this type of aerobics. One good example is
when we were still in elementary and even high school. We often do aerobics after the flag
ceremony to start our day energetically. Nowadays, people would rather choose dance
aerobics as an exercise, especially with its music. One of the famous aerobic exercise is
Zumba.

Zumba has become one of the most popular dance aerobic programs. It was
created in Colombia in the 1990s, this style of dance aerobics incorporates Latin moves
with a global soundtrack including beats from around the world. Zumba is being enjoyed by
all age groups. Another example of Dance Aerobics is the Street/Hip-hop Aerobics. It may
sound difficult but it also consist of simple moves. Any exercise that gets your heart rate up
and causes your body to require additional oxygen has aerobic benefits. Hip hop dance is
especially good for you aerobically because most hip hop dance classes require you to stay
moving and active for up to an hour. During that entire time, your body is taking in oxygen,
transporting it to your muscles, and helping you to burn fat in the process. As a result of
this, hip hop dance can be very good for your health. It can help you to lose weight, lower
your blood pressure, reduce your stress and even give you a boost of energy. To maximize

the aerobic benefits, you should try doing hip hop dance two to three times every week and
couple it with a healthy diet and plenty of rest. This ensures that you receive the benefits
from doing the aerobic portion of hip hop dance.

Sports Aerobics

Code of points (2001-2004) defines sports aerobics as the ability to perform

continuous complex and high intensity movement patterns with music originated from the
traditional aerobic dance. The routine must demonstrate continuous movements,
flexibility, strength, and utilization of the seven basic steps with high degree of perfectly
executed elements of difficulty. Sports aerobics is a recreational and competitive sport
that involves performing agile movement patterns to fast-paced music. Sports Aerobics is
also referred to as aerobic gymnastics, a sport where the objective is to perform several
high-intensity gymnastic moves and patterns that are in sync with background music. The
sport, which originated as a variation of traditional aerobics, later integrated aspects
of sports acrobatics and rhythmic gymnastics, dance and choreography. So basically, most
of the aerobics are really accompanied with music that adds up to the energy that the
aerobics give.

Sports aerobics is different from the other events of gymnastics but it is also called
as Aerobic Gymnastics. When we say Aerobic Gymnastics, it consists of 9 different sports
events. Events for female; for male; for male and female; and for groups. But not all of it are
included in the Aerobics because these events only take few seconds.
