D. Explain
 What is dance fitness?
- It is a sociable, energizing, and life-affirming dance. It has a whole host of body benefits, from aiding
joint flexibility to boosting mental well-being.
-Dance fitness stands out from technical or traditional dance in that technique and intricate choreography
aren’t the main focus.
-Participants don’t spend weeks or months perfecting a single routine in anticipation of a show or recital;
rather, they show up, work up a sweat while doing their best to follow an instructor, and leave feeling
good about their workout.
-Dance fitness offers upbeat and inventive exercise that promotes a healthy and active lifestyle.
 What are the main categories of dance fitness?

1. Cardio-based dance fitness- It focuses on cardiovascular exercise and easy-to-follow choreography

that keeps participants moving in an effort to raise their heart rates.
2. Slower-paced dance fitness- This category focuses on different elements of physical fitness to improve
balance, coordination, core strength, and flexibility while also enhancing the strength of smaller,
stabilizing muscles. It brings a mind-body element to dance-focused workouts.
 What is the rhythmic structure of dance?
- Rhythmic structure of a dance describes how the steps of a dance synchronize with the music that is
danced to. The rhythm of a dance corresponds to how these steps, these changes of weight from foot
to foot, line up with the music.
- Supposed that the dancer’s weight is on their left foot at the beginning of a two-beat unit.
 If the dancer takes a single step during the unit, their weight will be on their right foot at the
end of the unit.
 If the dancer takes two steps during the unit, they will end back on their left foot.
 If the dancer fits in three steps during the unit, the final position will again be with weight on
the right foot.
 If the dancer is fast enough to fit in four steps, they will end up back on their left again.
 Values Integration
Why is dance important to students?
-Through dance, students can learn teamwork, focus, and improvisational skill.
Why is dance important to one’s own health?
1. It increases muscular strength, endurance, and motor fitness.
2. It improves muscle tone and strength, and weight management.
3. It improves the condition of your heart and lungs.
Discussion leads to integration in different areas in learning (Science and Mathematics)
E. Elaborate
 The teacher shows a short video clip about the different dance fitness routines. The teacher will pick some
students to identify what dance fitness categories they are being shown and lets the students explain their
answers.
