C. Lesson Proper
DESCRIPTION
Zumba is not a classical dance, but rather a fitness
programme.
It combines many dance and musical elements of Latin
American dance.
Zumba is usually danced in a group in dance schools
or fitness studios, where choreographies are rehearsed
to a certain song.
HISTORY OF ZUMBA
Zumba dancing only came into being by chance. In the 90s,
the Colombian fitness trainer Alberto “Beto” Perez forgot a
cassette with the music he usually played during his aerobics
classes. He then helped himself to the other cassettes he had
with him. It was mainly Latin American music, such as Salsa
music. He then had his aerobics class performed to this
unusual music, which he and his participants liked.
PROPONENT
Alberto "Beto" Pérez (born 15 March 1970), is a Colombian
dancer, choreographer, businessman, and Zumba instructor.
He created the exercise fitness program Zumba in the late
1990s which involves dance and aerobic exercise elements
with accompanying music, specifically Latin, and associated
martial arts moves, squats, lunges, and other aerobic
techniques.
BENEFITS
It’s fun. The more you enjoy your exercise routine, the more
likely you are to stick with it. Many people say they have so
much fun dancing that they forget they are actually exercising.
Tones your entire body. You may feel sore in places you
never knew existed, but it gets results. Zumba targets lots of
different muscle groups at once for total body toning.
Boosts your heart health. You not only get aerobic benefits (it
really gets your heart rate up), you also get anaerobic benefits
– the kinds that help you maintain a good cardiovascular
respiratory system.
D. Analysis
1. Why do you think is Zumba a “dance workout” instead of
either a mere dance or exercise?
2. Is Zumba important? Why?
3. If you are to design a physical program in your community
and you are asked to focus on Zumba dancing, how would
you do it?
4. Prior to this discussion, how would you define Zumba?
What was like to you?
5. In this time when TikTok catch the interests of people
especially young adults in dance challenges, how do you
think Zumba dance would hack its way up considering that
a session last for almost an hour long?
E. Abstraction
How has your opinion of Zumba altered since we discussed
it?
Do you intend to participate in such an activity on a regular
basis? Why?
How would you persuade those around you to try Zumba?
How do you think the Zumba proponent helped many
individuals throughout the world with his creativity and
eventual discovery of such a workout?
Perform a Zumba step and explain to the class why it's
effective so thoroughly as a step in such a workout.
F. Application
Group 1 - In your group, create a 5-minute video showcasing
a routine in Zumba. Incorporate music, appropriate technique
and coordination.
10. You invited your father to join the Zumba session. While
performing he seems not to follow and perform the routine correctly.
What is the best thing that you will do?
Assignment only sir related to the next topic, do not exhaust your
students it is too much activity
