I. Subject Matter
A. Topic: Zumba Dance/Active Recreation

II. Objectives
After an hour period, with the use of some activities and visuals, 85% of the
students will be able to:
A. recognize the nature and brief history of Zumba dance;
B. value the significance of Zumba dance in optimizing physical activity; and
C. create a 1-minute Zumba dance routine.

A. Preliminary Activities

a. Prayer

Before we start the lesson this day, please


stand for the prayer to be led by one of
your classmates.

pieces of paper and garbage under your
chairs.

e. Classroom Rules
Before the class discussion starts, we will
have some classroom rules. First rule is to
listen to the teacher second is put your
focus in the discussion, third “shake it off”
or raise your hand if you have questions
and lastly respect each other.

b. Motivation
First, let us have a short group activity.
This activity is called “Dance the calories
away”. I have here colored popsicles sticks
and I will give these to you randomly.

I want everyone to form a big circle.

Now for our activity, you have a colored


popsicle with you. We have red, yellow, and (Encourage volunteerism in class)
blue. When I say your color, you will follow
the dance actions that is being presented
on the projected screen. Remember
whenever I say the color of the popsicle
that you are holding you will follow the
actions that is being shown. Yes, Sir.

V. Assessment

Now for your performance task this


activity is called “Feel the Rhythm, Move
your Body. I want you to create a 1- minute
Zumba Dance routine with the same
groupings during the first activity. Here is
the rubrics for you to follow, which also I
will use to critic your output. I’m going to
give you 10 mins. to practice with your
group.
