Overview Of River in IIUM

I've done research on the river that passes through campus (IIUM). There are
three portions to the river that we spoke about in the research. The first
section runs from the Female Sports Complex (FSC) to KAED, the second
section from AIKOL to KAED, and the third section runs from KAED to the
outlet at Gate 2, where the two rivers merge and leave outside the university
hall. The river is a natural waterway with two culverts running parallel to the
research span and an artificial canal at the end of the study span.

River

The sungai pusa is a natural river that flows through the campus in the shape
of a narrow, 100-centimeter-wide channel. It enters a concrete culvert when it
reaches the Female Sports Complex. The culvert is split into two rectangles,
each measuring one metre in length and one metre in width. Then it flows into
a large canal that runs across the campus. The campus is interspersed with
seven ponds along the river and its tributaries at the downstream, although it
has recently become a soil fault, becoming increasingly muddy and having a
depth of less than 1 m. Where the river IIum is now filled with silt.
To simplify the understanding of the average layout of the river, we have taken
pictures of certain places of the places where the river extends, and we will
indicate whether it is natural or man-made, as well as indicating the shape and
measurements.

Area 1

Its shape is natural trapezoid. It has a shallow

clay nature, its width is approximately 9 meters
and its depth does not exceed 1 metre.

Area 2

The shape was rectangular, but due to the low

water and the abundance of clay soil, it became
trapezoidal in shape. It is nature 10 m wide and
50 cm deep.
Area 3

Here the two rivers meet and become one stream,

and the shape here is also trapezoidal, and the
flow of water is faster than it was because the
width of the channel has become small. The
channel is approximately 7 m wide and 80 cm
deep. And It is nature.

Area 4

Along the river there are two concrete culverts. The

river passes underneath them. They are in the
centre of the campus, each of which is divided into
three rectangles. Each rectangle is about 2.5 m
high and 2 m wide and is considered man-made.

The second one. There is a slight difference in the

lengths of the three rectangles, the amount of
difference is approximately 20 cm between each
one .
Area 5

At the end of the river there is a man-made canal

(Artificial canal) that receives water from the
natural river and transports it out of the campus at
Gate 2 by Concrete culverts. The length of this
canal is about 100m, and its height is 3m
