I. OBJECTIVES:
A. Content Standard:
The learner demonstrates understanding on how Anglo-American literature and other
text types serve as means of preserving unchanging values in a changing world; also how
to use the features of a full-length play, tense consistency, modals, active and passive
constructions plus direct and indirect speech to enable him/her competently performs in
a full-length play.

B. Performance Standard:
The learner competently performs in a full-length play through applying effective verbal
and non-verbal strategies and ICT resources based on the following criteria: Focus, Voice,
Delivery and Dramatic Conventions.

C. Learning Competencies:

possibility
a. Identify modals in a song
b. Use appropriate modals in the sentence
c. Give importance on using correct modals in varied situations

Preliminaries:

Pretest: Ask the students to answer the 5 item pretest using google form.

It is that easy to determine a correct modal to be used in varied scenario? You are
probably sure with your answers but you cannot explain why you made those answers,
right? So, take a look on these sentences. ( Indicator 2 and 9)

As you can see, each sentence has three translation to give you an idea that modals
can change the meaning of the sentence. Why is this so? Now, let us discuss MODALS.

Modal Verb is a type of verb that is used to indicate modality like permission, possibility,
obligation and ability. More examples are presented through interactive presentation.

Trivia: The number of indigenous Peoples in the Philippines is unknown, but it is estimated that

ancestral lands and domains. They can own lands. It has been enacted to support the cultural integrity

school. Use modals in your texts.
3. Bloggers - Make a blog advising other students to continue learning amidst
new normal . Use modals in your sentences.
